GREEN EASY WRINGER!

Hi everyone. Lookie what we have here. A GREEN Easy Wringer. I'm guessing this is mid 1930's? The wringer rolls are in great shape, and are actually still soft. No chips in the enamel tub. The pump isn't functioning, but may just need adjusting. Overall, this machine is in great condition. I will need to replace the drain hose, it's dry and cracked. Who out there is an "Easy" collector savvy in this brand?

Hi Toploader55,
Yes I have been out of circulation for a while. I do plan on uploading a video of this washer just as soon as I tie up a few loose ends on it. I need to replace the drain hose. This might be tricky as the metal gooseneck on this is machine pressed to the hose unlike a maytag that is threaded. I also need to check out why the pump isn't functioning.

The Green in a Spindryer

I have the same Easy,even the tub brackets are the same,in a spin dryer model.Talk about heavy!!!! In 78 I was visiting some friends in San Francisco,I happen to look in their backyard and on the backporch of a neighbor it was sitting there.So I jumped the fence and we took it back to Anaheim in an old ElCamino and I still have that machine.Its really pretty in person.It has the suction cups in it for agitation.

Yes this machine is really pretty in person. Do you have any pictures of your machine? I noticed that the suction cups on this have what seems to be a kind of "breathing" configuration. As the cups are pushed down, water is forced up threw holes at the top, and then redirected out from a few little slits located at the tops of each cup. Other that really kicking up the suds, I wonder why this design came into play? Here is a picture of it on it's way home.

The cups rotate around as they go up and down! I need a universal joint between the gearbox and the spinner.I have a 48 model for a donor machine I should look to see if it has one.Your machine is nice,is it heavy? Bobby

Yes, it is a little on the heavy side. I came across an ad of the spinner you have I think. It's dated to 1932. It's funny, it claims that it's important that baby clothes are soft, otherwise you run the risk of scratching their skin, ultimately causing an infection! Lol! "So if you love babies, then you need to buy an Easy Brand Washer!"...

I would assume the cups are vented because otherwise, they would act like a diving bell and trap air inside them.

Identical to Ad

Mine is identical to the 1932 ad,the bells are the same as the wringer,you pull the pin,kinda like a grenade.Take out the balls,load,place them baxk and away you go! Its almost like it has a Samba beat to it! In the little Rascals they wash one of the kids in an Easy,looks like he is having fun going up and down.I wish I knew which one it was! Thank you for answering one of those questions I had in far corner of my mind--like "How the heck are you supposed to get clothes in or out of that thing?"

Now, I know!
