Greetings! Looking for Frigidaire FPCD-166TN info

Hi,

I just registered today so I wanted to introduce myself. I live in metro Boston and recently found an unused Frigidaire FPCD-166TN in the basement of my house. I replaced the broken evaporator motor and it runs but has a frost buildup issue in the freezer.

Looking for a service manual or tech-talk guide for the Frigidaire FPCD-166TN.

Any help is greatly apprciated!

Could be the defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost limiter disc, or a broken wire.

A few ideas

First, you can listen to see whether the defrost timer is still working. They often fail and it's not a big deal to replace it with a new one. Be careful, the color coding for the wiring is not the same as is used today. For instance, there's a green wire running from the abort defrost function to the defroster which is not needed for modern systems if you don't want to use that special feature. It is NOT a ground wire,.
You can check the defrost heater for continuity. Must not have any leakage to ground.
Is the fan running? The universal kids do workm though a bit of minor adaptation is necessary.
Is the thermostat working?
