Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

On the back is a funky jack for the turntable (which needs some work) and a "tape recorder" which I'm assuming is a line out, as there is no selector switch for it.

Does anyone know what these jacks are called? I remember my parents had an Ampex cassette deck with these kinds of jacks.

Thank you Ken!

The name was on the tip o' my tongue, and I just couldn't get it. They are five pin DINs

The local Radio Shack could only offer me a blank stare, but I hear their website is extensive. Or I can go back to my "alma mater" (the Seattle Westin, where I was the morning A-V guy for too many years) and see if they have some floating around for some strange reason.

There is a guy on Ebay called "Laserwave" that makes up custom cables using high quality cable and connectors at a pretty reasonable price. If you contact him, he will make a cable for you without an auction on Ebay. His e-mail address is: [email protected].
He has made up a few DIN pugs for me for a Tandberg radio and a old Telefunken we have as well as a Bang & Olufsen receiver.

COOL RADIO!!! That connector appears to be the same as a CB radio mic cable socket. I bet if you walked back into the Radio Shack and asked them for a CB mic connector they'd have it. Better yet, find a truck stop. They frequently have CB shops, and almost certainly will have it!

The trick will be finding out what is on the pins however! I don't think they have any power on them, but just be careful and make sure first!

Hi Dalangdon

That sure is a lovely old Grundig. They have some style.

I am a new Grundig owner too - not quite same league as yours, I bought a Grundig Ocean Boy 70 radio recently.
As we have solar electricity and turn off the power at night to save energy, I use a battery powered clock radio. I have had a couple of junky ones but wanted to upgrade to a decent radio with strong reception from a weak signal, hard to find. Most modern radios have very weak tuners.
I am very happy with my new Grundig Ocean Boy, attractively styled, with clear reception and a lovely mellow sound like you'd expect from an old valve radio. I love it.

Go Grundig!

Chris
