Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I had one

I had a tiny little Haier washer when we were on the road. I thought it was fantastic! It was lots of fun and cheap to boot. Its too bad they come from horrid communist china.

I did not own it long enough to comment on longevity, but at under $200, how can you go wrong?

The folks on e-pinions seem pretty satisfied with the portable top-loader (even thought it plays "Jingle Bells" when the wash is done!?!?), but I've never heard anything good about the front-loading combo model. I've never heard anything at all about the full-size top loader, oddly enough.

hi

I own a haier xqbm22-c. I have has it for about 2 years an not one problem at all.

It does play Jingle Bells when it is done with the wash. I use it about 2 times a week holds about 4.9 pounds of dry clothes. About 6 pull over shirts at a time with some small items mixed in.

They are ran buy two belts an can not be put on top of a rug or padded floor. Easy to put together right out of the box too just screw the bottom plate on after you remove the shipping packing. Hook the hose up use plummbers tape on the nipple thats on top of the washer.

For storing the unit just put the drain hose and fill house inside the tub with the cord. The lint fillter is sort of differnt a small bag that you just take an clean about every two loads.

Never tryed the front loader so have no ideal how it holds up.

Bought mine on ebay for about 140.00 an love it.

DO NOT GET THE FRONTLOADER!!!!!! I unfortunately bought it and it is aweful!! It was delivered particially defective (even slightly off balance and it would scrape the outer tub severely), and it takes FOREVER!!!! You can only use powder detergent and it does not have a good program, mine will sometimes drain and fill at the same time!!! A few months ago I washed a load of towels in it and it broke!!! It won't spin any more!!! It is less than a year old and it was used rarely!!! DON"T EVEN THINK ABOUT BUYING IT!!!

I heard from a local appliance dealer that *some* of the Haiers have tended to break down a lot and need repair parts frequently, but parts are difficult to get. I would have to guess that their simpler designs are more reliable than their more complex ones such as front loaders.

For compact automatic top-loaders, see also Danby DWM-99-W. This also has an American-style agitator instead of a pulsator, and pumps out the water into the sink (rather than relying on a gravity drain into a bucket).

fixing haier washers

if anybody gets haier top loaders to try use or etc

make sure you keep all the screws on the power module tight

the screws that hold the pump motor etc loosen with use
so you have to check them monthly

the xqb60-bf is the nicest one

It passive recirulates the water in the tub

Top load large capacity

Has anyone seen the top loading large capacity machine under the Haier brand. I was wondering if it is a joint venture with one of the other U.S. brands ... what kind of agitator it has. Also, I had one of the 13 pound machines with the bottom pulsator ... it actually did turn the clother over quiet well. The front loader does have a LONG wash time; however, it did a good job of cleaning. Todd

The full-sized Haier TL has a stainless tub and a very interesting variation of the Dual-Action agitator. While the control panel resembles the Maytag Dependable Care, they don't carry any American design that I know of based on the interior...LOL. I do think they would be fun to play with...if I saw one locally I'd get it.

I posted a picture of the interior of one a while back; do a search on "Haier" and you'll probably find my thread.

Cheap Washers

If anyone needs an el-cheapo BOL washer, there are Whirl-mores available under both badges.

One water level (full)
Two wash temps ( W&C )

And we all know these "features" can be upgraded by some simple wiring.....

The guts are the same as any of their 24"-wide machines.
They used to be $149 but may be closer to $200 now.

And if you REALLY want to buy one.... feel free to torture a sales-person...(I used to sell for Sears P/T after my accounting job)... These positions are commission only. They will SO try to talk you up to a "better" machine (more commission and a higher rate of commission) Make their day and yours....look at the TOL stuff and Buy BOL. You will be the talk of the dept for MONTHS. LOL

Regards,
Steve
