I would like to ask a question to the group on how much it costs to have your hair cut and how often. This is for both male and females. All countries are welcome. If you do it yourself no need to reply. I own a salon and was wondering what the norm is that everyone pays. I appreciate your input.
Thanks
Jon

Hair is cut once a month at $10, with an additional $3 tip.

Yep, I'm a cheap ass :)

Have had the same hair style since 1985, which is apparent is RCD's 806 posts.

Currently $13. Standing appt Wed 12 PM every 5 weeks. Barbara, long-time family friend, has been cutting my hair for upwards of 35 years.

AUD$15.00....no tip.

It's not expected nor required here.....and thankfully, neither is it in cafe's or restaurants to the level of the US/Canada....

$10 no tip. He's a one chair barbershop.Tips are for working staff, not owners who garner all the profit for themselves and not paying anyone out if. Every 4 weeks roughly

Now if I went to a chain type hair cutters I would tip whomever cut my hair about 10%

$9.00 and a dollar tip to one person sop who is a friend every 4 weeks to have it done.

$13 plus 2 or 3 tip every 3 months here. I get it done short, so it will last me that long, because I hate shelling out money to get my hair cut LOL.

Wash and cut is $28AUD once a month. No Tip.

Used to be $16 as the barber, but I decided I'd like a little more shape and started going to a hairdresser instead.

You guys are getting a bahgin!

$50 for Skyler and I, kids cut is $15, the rest is mine and tip.

It's worth every penny though, I've had more compliments on this haircut than any in years - - and look who I get to see once every 3-4 weeks!!

Bobby is a very nice guy, his parents both are in the cosmetology biz and he has a sister that is in beauty school now.

oh Bobby!

$11 + $5 tip.
No shampooing.

Was every 2 weeks (coiniciding with payday) now every 4.

4 in winter and economizing.

Their "signature" is an Oster massager for a backrub. Natasha adds a forehead massage and nails on the neck and scalp. Just marvelous! In Gary's part of cental Connecitcut some married men just don't get haircuts or shave.

Mine is FREE - heehee!!! I've got my own Whal Clippers and, zippydeedip, it's off. If I don't do it myself there is always someone else in the house happy to help. I've paid as much as $30 for a five minute head shave and was thinking all the while that I can do it better myself. Why should I pay someone $15 or $30 for five or ten minutes work.

All I ever wanted for christmas was a Flowbee!!!

Here I pay 35€ (53 USD) for beard and hair cut (25€ hair alone), I cut my hair once a month and the beard, I trim it myself once or twice a week, plus the time I have it professionally done when I cut my hair. When I dye them the price is 60€/65€ (90/97 USD), I love that tipping in Italy is actually forbidden by law and you're not required to leave any.
I change my hairstyle and sometimes colour 4/5 times per year and beard style depends on my morning mood. I attach a photo of my (quasi) latest haircut and beard.

Gabriele is adorable too!

Very handsome indeed.

It costs old meanie here nothing either and I adopt Rapunzel's method too - usually do it myself every couple of weeks. I dont have that much hair anyway (on top at least) and now that it is white (eeeeekkkk!!!!) I keep it very short (zero crop). I have a short crop beard too - I have not shaved my chin since 1976!

When I had hair I used to love getting it professionally cut and styled as I found it so very relaxing but now it is really just not worth it

$20 and a $2 - $3 tip. I get it done average of 8 weeks. I had longish hair in the 70's, so I let it grow out a bit. Rachael cuts my hair and has been doing so for about 7 years, and she's a customer of mine as well, so it works both ways.

I guess it depends on if you're a barber or stylist- cause barbers get paid less.

$15 plus 5 tip. Nice 2 chair traditional barber shop recently opened near us. Owner is gay and very involved with community. I despise getting my hair cut and going to him is tolerable. I used to stretch it to 10 weeks because I hate it so much, now i'm 5-6 weeks and due.

AU$16.50, about every 6 weeks at a guess. No tipping here.
"Number 4 on the back and sides, scissors but very short on top." I used to go to one place all the time, the cut was fine but the hairdresser was uninterested at best, rude at worst. Now I go to a new place nearby, price about the same, I like the cut better, and they are friendly too.

Chris.

$13 + $7 tip at the local salon. I tip generously because the young woman who cuts my hair is a former student.

HOWEVER: The best haircut experience I've had is at Jungle Red Salon in Minneapolis. I went there about every four weeks for several years. You get a great neck/shoulder massage, aromatherapy oils massaged into your scalp, and an excellent cup of coffee. The stylists are all very hip and friendly, and they had the sweetest cat patrolling the salon. I used to bring the cat treats, which she loved.

I spend less time in Minneapolis now, so I haven't been to Jungle Red for a couple of years. But I highly recommend it to anyone living in the Twin Cities area. Great manicures and pedicures, too.

The place also sports an art gallery, and exhibition opening parties (not to mention an awesome annual Christmas party) are thrown there several times a year. Regular customers receive invitations by mail. Suzanne, the owner, is great; she makes it a point to get to know customers.

When I was going there, a regular cut was about $30. I always felt at home and was treated very well. It's located on LaSalle avenue, a couple of blocks south of the downtown Hyatt.

Usually cut every six weeks

The girl that cut my hair for 16 years moved to CA about three years ago so I have had to shop around. Sara used to charge me $15, I always gave a $5 tip.

I have tried several franchise shops they are cheaper about $10 - $15, this will depend if they just squirt and cut, or if they shampoo first. I still tip $5.

I get my hair cut every 8-10 weeks. Adrianne has been cutting my hair my entire life, same style too(I dont like change. She runs a little 1 chair salon in her home, only costs $10, plus I usually tip since she usually fits me in immediately

price will be rising........

was $13 with a $2 tip. Now it will be $150 (gas round trip) plus haircut charges and large tip. Greg, please tell Bobby he has a new client =:0

I get mine cut at a local barber shop in Houston where all the movers and shakers in town get their hair cut (Times Barber Shop). It's $15.00 with a $5.00 tip every 4 weeks.
You never know who will drop in! Anyone from the mayor to maybe a celebrity or two. I've been going there for about 6 years.

Nothing. I shaved my head 3 years ago and was the best thing I ever did. Keep it mega short with a pair of clippers I bought that have long since paid for themselves with the money saved at the barber shop
