They probably did not pay much more than $150 for it new and they are trying to sell it now for that?!

You hit the nail on the head with 1976 as my mother had bought a MOL G.E. F.F. washer that year when we moved to a new house..it had that gold brushed aluminum control panel with black like the dryer that is for sale...I agree with you guys, $100 is steep for a 36 year old dryer that looks like it's one notch above BOL.
