Wow, great catch Cory!! Maytag machines always looked nice, regardless of the model designation, IMHO.

Good luck finding the backlit TOL console for the washer!

Very Nice Cory - an excellent pair. I'm always a little shocked at how heavy these machines turn out to be.

My grandparent's had this same model, white, bought at a Nebraska Furniture Mart scratch and dent sale after the tornado of May 1975. She was very proud of her new washer, the early 60's Highlander moved to the basement for grimy stuff and the "good" washer was used for average washing. She even made a washer-doily sort of thing for the top so it wouldn't get scratched and nicked. The washer never had a repair. In 86, the washer passed down to me and I used it for several years - still washing away without a repair.

Yes Laundress, that would be my fantsy world...open your vaults. Have the big-boys go back to making "new" classics with the dates of original production on the control panel as part of the "new" model number.

...Even a specialty manufaturer that could make the defunct companies' machines!!!

Cory and Ben, nice find you guys. They look like they both are in great shape. What fun, I love the big "AUTOMATIC" button on the washer. When you de-select "AUTOMATIC" the spin is cancelled and a wringer pops out of the side of the machine.

1966 Maytag brochure

Aloha David,I am glad you will be able to attend! - And yes I will bring that 1966 Maytag sales info catalog. I will also bring a 1921 Premier Duplex upright vac,plus my Toast-a-lator,toaster from the 1930's. (and some bread and jam) I am sure it will be a blast!

Rick, I would love to see your Toast-o-lator when we're there, I've always wanted to pick one up one day. You wouldn't happen to have a Toast Master that lowers electrically would you? I've never seen one in the flesh.

Hi Cory,yes I used a self lowering Toastmaster for many years,replaced it with a self lowering 1950 Sunbeam two years ago. I gave the Toastmaster to my brother. I am sure he will let me bring the Toastmaster to the convention,along with my Toast-a-lator. Do you want me to bring the self lowering Sunbeam also?
