Hey, get a load of today's catch, in all its harvest gold glory! The dryer is a DE606 from April '76 and appears to be in mint shape. The washer is unfortunately a BOL (a KA107) but I intend to change that, it's a beaut, too! Rescued from the recycler truck just in time...

Cory, a beautiful Harvest. Looks to be either a A108 or a Fabric-Matic with Normal, PP, and Delicate separate cycles on the timer (including individual Delicate cycle and not just the word Delicate the last 4-6 mins. of regualr wash cycle). And can't tell if that's an electronic sensor dryer or just auto dry.

Thanks guys!
Here's a snap of the timers- Am I to assume this 107 features a 1-speed motor?
I've got the lighted controls from a DE806 that would look great on this one. Unfortunately, there was an 806 washer that I missed but there's a chance the recycler hasn't crushed it yet. I'll know tomorrow ; )

Beautiful set!!!

This set looks like it just came out of the box. Appnut's correct, the washer is an A108, 1-speed 3 cycle machine. I have the same washer only in white. Usually on the older center-dial Maytag's I have seen, the timer dial has the paint almost worn off from use. However, yours has been very well taken care of and shows no signs of wear in the picture. What a beautiful find!!!! Congratulations!!!

Dennis

Yes Cory, it's a 1-speed. Fabric-Matics were Maytag's way of offering a "cheaper" way to do modern fabrics without having to offer a 2-speed motor in a kinda value-priced machine.

A107

A107 was the standard capacity Fabric matic model just before the '08 series came out. Fabric matic was Maytags one speed machines that use a wash/soak/wash period for delicate fabrics.I will post a scan on this model....

This is also the exact machine (with a different control panel naturally) that's used in the commercial top loaders. Remember the Maytag POD a couple of days ago touting ability to wash woolens?

Don't know what you Paid or if

it was free, nevertheless, how about beauty's! Man those sure are nice. Take them for face value. Like Launderess says, if Maytag would only take a step back to the past and see what is/was the best!!

Ooo, the pictures are worth a thousand words! They look even better than of what you spoke. I can't wait to go to the yard to grab parts - fantastic find my friend!!!

Partscounterman, I love the sales lit with the control panel features - do you have any from the 66 - 67 era?

Ben

June is Maytag Month Big TIme!

Cory that set looks to be brand new! Congratulations on saving these. Why do people scrap such nice stuff? (So we can grab it I guess) Those will look FINE with your lighted control panels!
Here is a preview. (and Ben this adv. booket is from 1966) (:

Maytag Exec's Are You Taking Notes?

Someone really should take a trip over to Newton and get in the Maytag's corporate mucks faces with some of this great stuff. Maytag does not NEED to go looking in Asia for great ideas, it has them right in it's vaults! HELLO!!!!

Re: Pleaz, more Pix's:

YES!!! rickr, pleaz show some more of these great Machines. It's been bringing back memories of some of the Colors, about the Chrome top of the Lint Filter and other item thoughts I've forgotten about. I thought that I had several years of the 1960's Models, but I've never seen some of these Literature Books your sharing with us. Thank you so much with doing this and "Jogging" at least my Memory of this Wonderful Past.

I still think that June should be make a National Holiday Month, because of these Wonderful Findings...

Peace, Happy Maytag Month and Happy Maytag Washing, Steve

Wow, great catch Cory!! Maytag machines always looked nice, regardless of the model designation, IMHO.

Good luck finding the backlit TOL console for the washer!

Very Nice Cory - an excellent pair. I'm always a little shocked at how heavy these machines turn out to be.

My grandparent's had this same model, white, bought at a Nebraska Furniture Mart scratch and dent sale after the tornado of May 1975. She was very proud of her new washer, the early 60's Highlander moved to the basement for grimy stuff and the "good" washer was used for average washing. She even made a washer-doily sort of thing for the top so it wouldn't get scratched and nicked. The washer never had a repair. In 86, the washer passed down to me and I used it for several years - still washing away without a repair.

Ya gotta love the hand-scribbled notes/prices on brochures.

I think of all information, available that is the BEST find, IMHO

Yes Laundress, that would be my fantsy world...open your vaults. Have the big-boys go back to making "new" classics with the dates of original production on the control panel as part of the "new" model number.

...Even a specialty manufaturer that could make the defunct companies' machines!!!

Cory and Ben, nice find you guys. They look like they both are in great shape. What fun, I love the big "AUTOMATIC" button on the washer. When you de-select "AUTOMATIC" the spin is cancelled and a wringer pops out of the side of the machine.
