Paging all who work on dishwashers...our '05 Kenmore TT -model 22401- is throwing code -7 flashes- on the 'clean' light...it pauses then repeats code. Didn't notice it, of course, until time to run it :-0. I cut the power to it, waited a minute, then cut power back on. Still flashes, so...
Is the control board toast? Or, is it a clogged pump? something else? Any advice is greatly appreciated before a) scheduling service, or b) replacing
Thanks in advance!
Robert

Heater problem...

The electronic control has detected no temperature rise during the wash cycle. You can clear the memory and try running it again, press the high temp. option button, then air dry, then high temp. again, then air dry, within 10 seconds. If you enter the test cycle properly all LEDs should come on and the DW will run a short test cycle and clear the memory. Many of these DWs have had heater failures, look for cracks or blisters on the heater. I have also had bad door switches cause this problem as all stainless steel units have dual door switches and one switch controls only the heater. There should be a tech sheet attached to the back of the kick plate that will have more info. Good luck,  Jeff

I really wish ...

... we had the option to override these damn digital "computerized" controls.

There were fewer features with the purely mechanical models, but at least it was the humans running the machines, not the other way around!

Thanks! it worked!!

Thanks so much, Jeff, the directions you provided to me...spot on! After several minutes the board reset. It did not run a cycle though...I was home so I ran a full cycle, it ran fine. Nothing appears wrong with the heater coil...

So for now we'll stay the course.

Matt, agree with you, electronics can leave something to be desired....modern stuff spends half its time doing

Gee-wiz/sensing la la la, when old school gets it done without fuss.

Robert

Alert! Alert! Your electronically-controlled dishwasher has sensed the phrase "Gee-Whiz/La-La-La" to be derogatory. Alert! Alert! This is not allowed. Electronic controls are your friend. Repeat: Your friend. Further derogatory statements will be dealt with harshly. Alert! Alert!

And...scene.
