HELP! MAYTAG DISHWASHER TIMER RE-ASSEMBLY!!!!

I opened a timer from an early reverse rack dishwasher as the motor contact had welded which made the pump run constantly. I've fixed the contact, but I can't seem to figure out where the spring thingy goes.

In reply seven you can see how one end of the wire spring tucks into the hole, while reply twenty six shows where the other end goes. If it isn't clear enough or you need more photos, let me know and I'll see what I can come up with.

 
Advancing mechanism

I require a picture of how the advancing mechanism is put together. It can be seen in reply #26 of the thread you linked. but I can't quite see how it's put together. I'm having alot of trouble figuring out how it is assembled
 
Sorry! Didn't quite read the whole post.

I did what I saw in reply #7 which showed the end of the spring tucked into the hole. I can't find the picture of where the other end goes but I think it's the hook on the top of the advancing cam thing. I re-assembled the timer and it sounded like the motor was having trouble turning it. I also noticed that the timer would not advance automatically. I loosened the screws slightly to see if anything was binding. I plugged it in again and it moved normally, but now there was no classic maytag increment sound and the timer could be turned backwards which could damage contacts or something. I feel like there is something I adjusted wrong. I'd like to see a picture of the advancing mechanism to see how to put it together. Thanks for the reply, at least now i'm actually getting somewhere.
 
This should help.

These are really very simple mechanisms, and once you figure them out you'll never forget. The first photo shows the device that prevents reverse travel of the cam wheel(the disc with all the teeth around the edge). It's installed with the little peg sticking up as shown. The next photo shows the little drive lever installed with that same peg engaged at one end of the slot running lengthwise in the tail end, and the motors little drive peg engaged in the other slot that runs crosswise in the wider portion. You can also see the wire spring hooked under the tab at the very end of the drive lever. These are excellent little timers, and very easy to work on once you get the hang of them. Thank you so much. It' wasn't until this morning that I realized I had been installing the mechanism upside down. You see, I placed the drive lever and the circular piece that prevents the timer from rotating exactly as I saw it in the picture. It wasn't until this morning after my brain was refreshed that I realized that on my timer, the motor mounts on the opposite side, meaning that the drive lever and circular piece should also be placed in reverse order. What a stupid mistake on my part. The timer is actually being bench tested as I type and it seems to be running fine now, so I'm going to put it back in the dishwasher today. I cannot thank you enough for posting the pictures! They were a real help.
