I will agree with askolover
Don’t underestimate “compact” units
My Electrolux and my miele could easily wash a queen size comforter without any issues
A Miele dryer is ventless and using heatpump Technoogy which means less heat and minimum operation cost

Tight Space For A Washer & Dryer

If you don't have space for full sized machines, you are better off getting a full sized dryer and a 24" wide FL washer.

Question about Plastic doors on WP FL washers, ALL FL washers have plastic doors, we have not seen problems with WPs FL washers doors.

FL washers do as a rule place greater vibration loads on floors, I would still get a FL washer over current TL machines.

FL Plastic Doors

John, as far as I can tell, WP and Maytag are the only FL washers with a plastic inner door. Everyone else's is glass.

It seems the plastic door would get all scratched up within a year or two.

Plastic Windows

Thats a different item, I assume that WP is using a decent material, plastic would certainly be safer as FL washer windows are not tempered glass and they break with very sharp edges so the switch may be partly motivated by safety.

We will have to wait and see how it holds up, I seriously dough that we will see many problems.

I was thinking jean rivets/buttons. If the window did scratch, it would probably only be on the edges. Unless you'd stuff the washer beyond capacity, clothing shouldn't be touching the middle of the window.

I've had my machine nearly a year and there has been no signs of any scratches on the inner concave plastic opening. Door still looks like new. Haven't used the washer in about a month now.
