Paint at Michaels

Ben, you asked where did the paint come from. There is a place here in Pensacola called Michaels. A hobby type store. That is where I found it.

Thanks to all who praise my machines. They are special and are in perfect shape inside and out. In the near future, I will post some pics on the "Imperial" setting with the panels off so all can see this!!! A lot of fun work went into the restoration!

boric acid

"Raoches eat it and it gives off gas when wet. They can't pass gas (forwards or backwards!), so it ruptures their blood-vessels"

Dis-advantage, it's toxic to pets.

That's not the way I heard boric acid kills roaches, I heard it removes the waxy coating from their bodies and they lose moisture and die. Maybe it does both?

Re: Re-Painted Maytag Panels:

Hey! Steve, great job at Refinishing the Lower Panels of your Maytag Washer & Dryer Consoles. "BTW" Michaels Craft Stores are all over, we have several Stores here in and around the "Sacto" area.

I don't know if I would have ever thought about checking out a place like a Craft Store, for some Paint to use on an Appliance. I guess if you let someone know that works at them of what you needs are and if they know their products real well, they can recommend something if they believe that their product they sell will work for what your needs are.

I agree with "Mom" Venus, your Machines look like "Show-Room" Original/Fresh, without any use on them at all. Keep up the great work and sharing as much as you have, it is always great getting to see/know the progress of projects everyone is working on.

Peace and Happy Washing, Steve

Cannot Pass Gas

Think you may be thinking of rats not roaches.

Rats cannot vomit, so classes of rodentcides have been developed that amoung other things when ingested cause the rat to "vomit", but since it cannot, the rodent dies chokes on it's own vomit.

This method of rat/rodent control works well since humans, dogs and cats can vomit, thus the chances of a death by this method of poison is lowered.

On the down side, rats are VERY smart creatures. If they eat something that makes them sick, they will avoid it in the future. More over they will mark it with urine so other rats will avoid it as well. IIRC the term is called "bait shy", and it is the reason why chemicals are used that will allow a rat to consume a leathal dose in one feeding.

Squeek, squeek

Quote From Bugs Bunny:

"Look lady, I'm not a baby gorilla, I'm a rabbit. Technically known as rodentus rabbitus."

Paint in the Blue Shade

SactoTeddyBear/Steve - an all other Friends:

You mentioned that Michales is a nationwide charin store. Great, maybe it will help others who need some sort of paint on the precious appliances.

Did you say you have the sort of blue Maytag lower panel on your machine? I bet if you need some paint, they would have it. I can fill you in more on the type of brush to use. Well, it just needs to be an artist brush with rather stiff/course bristles. I found that to work the best. I have the blue one as well, so maybe I can try to find some paint for it, although it does not need it.

Again, Thanks to all the applianceville folks who participated in my painting project.

Actually, Maytag should pay me, LOLOLOLOL the machines came out so nice. The color is just slight brighter and darker than the original, and looks better! Sorry Maytag , I hate it for ya!
