I have looked at so many FL washer/dryer sets that I am confused about which to buy. Kenmore? Frigidaire? Maytag? Whirlpool? They all have basically the same features. They are all recognizable names. Help me. Tim

Pick one and go for it. If it has the options you want and is in the price range you can afford, just get it. Asking an open ended question like that will lead to lots of opinions and more confusion if you take them seriously. Just do it!

Be sure to consider the Speed Queen... ;)

Hey, they are all nice "new machines".

Like the other folk say, just get one. They all act alike and are resonable in price.

Personally, I have the Kenmore, and it is just fine. Clothes are clean too! Imagine that!

Maytag is risky, IMHO
Dying painfully, slowly.

I do like the SQ's a lot too.
I own Frgidaire.

Please consider the extended waranty if your choice of machines has comupterized controls (they ALL pretty much do). Various brands have problems in that area.

timborow---does this mean you've decided to play it safe and get rid of your 'randomly firing' KM Series 90? A wise move.

I have a Frigidaire FL and like it a lot. Reasonably priced, too. The only brand I would avoid is Maytag, seeing as they're in the middle of being reconstructed. Definitely avoid the classic Maytag Neptune FL'ers that have no window in the door.

Whichever brand you choose, I think you'll like the energy/water savings, loading flexibility and overall performance of a FL'er. Enjoy your new purchase!

Consider GE Front Loader

You don't mention your price point. If you are not inclined to spend over $1,000, you may wish to consider the new GE front loader. At it's price level, you are getting so much:

superior size (3.7)
internal heater
couple dozen cycles

Big down size is that this is a brand new machine with no track record. If you purchase it at some place other than Sears, you will be able to get extended warranty for less than $100.

Good luck!
