My hotpoint top loader washer (CIRCA 1993) has now deveoloped a noise problem, when the 1st fill stops the motor kicks in and does the 1st wash. But during the 1st wash the noise from the motor becomes progressivley louder, then it stops and heats the water to the required tempreture. After 1/2 an hour the washer motor kicks in again the same thing, a very noisy motor. This also happens when the machine drains and spins, any suggestions is the motor going to fail on me. I dont want to go back to a f l as my kitchen is not designed for one

love to one and all hairybruinuk

Hey Guys you have over looked me what do I do about my top loader is she about to die on me PLEASE HELP

Hi hairybruinuk

It happens the same to my FL... I think they're the engine's brushes to be changed.

For this reason I buy a new TL, and I use the old Fl very rearely. They do together my VERY little collection, only a pair in truth but I consider them as a collection the same

Don't get desperate :-) Be hopeful...as soon as possible someone here will answer your question better than me...

GoodBye
Diomede

PS: Never change a TL with a FL! I wouldn't do it never, especially if it's a EuroTL, h-axis I mean...

Hi Hairy..
Ummm sounds like there could be a problem with the gearbox on your machine, or the supports are wearing, holding the trasmission unit, hence the "clunk, clunk" I have a 1504 Timeline Hotpoint top loader from 1972, and is in weekley use and has been since i retored it about 3 years ago..It could be the clutch shoes are wearing.
Regards
Keith
