Cute little bald guy

I'm seeing at the bottom of every thread, asking me to log in.

Is it just his weekly request now embedded right in the thread, or will we be signing in every time we post.....

(In an arch British Hyacinth Bouquet Voice)..... for security purposes only, Richard?

Nope, just log in Mike and the system will keep you logged in for seven days. Since you obviously logged in to make this post you should now be seeing the new Logged-in "Push the Dial in guy" with boxes to reply below.

What if you're a Maytag guy and you have to PULL the dial out to proceed? (ducks and runs...)

Thanks for the work!

I saw him right away, meditating with his hand on the wand ;

In the past, every 7 days we'd go to send a post, and the white page would overtake the screen, but now the little guy is already there to remind us, and no white shock. Pretty cool magic, a tweak of the nose, and now we get to see him all the time--a reminder to be light-hearted!

lol Drew, looks like we will have to find some cute little whimsical Maytag washer cartoons then for the Maytag side of our family.

Speaking of cute little washer whimsical drawings, if you have some of those and would like to scan them for me at a high resolution so I can use them here on the site please do and email them to me. I'm looking for vintage washer, dryer and dishwasher related cartoons like our new little "logged in dial pusher" at the bottom above the reply boxes.

Any help sure would be appreciated.

What do we do if the gear starts spinning out of control, and shreds both the tube and the green arrow?

We all go back to IBM Selectrics then :-)

I'll move those arrows around a bit, this is all experimental right now.

Nice work Robert! I don't understand some of the terms of the programming you do, but it always works out for the better for the site. Thank you for all you do.

BTW: LOVE your new avatar. Those pink Kenmores are just beautiful! Nice to see them again.

My Dearest Robert!

Hey there,

A few " Embeds" ago I noticed that I did not have to take out the ". This worked for a few days and now I have to take them out again.
Curious as to if this was a programing thing or just a fluke along the way.
Is I silly?
Thanks for your hard work Robert!
Hugs!

No I removed that code a few days ago because it was causing posts to get cut off if the user wasn't logged in. Once all three Index pages have the little green arrows on all of the threads I will be able to turn that embed code back on so you wont have to remove the " marks. Notice how on the Imperial and Deluxe Index Lists that at the bottom of the page all of the post are of the old style yet without the green arrows, once they all fall off into the archives I can set it back on.

mistereric's profile pictureAwesome changes. I love the speed bump!

Thanks Eric, did you notice an increase in speed? I was trying to figure out if it seemed faster but I couldn't tell.

Hey Robert, I haven't noticed anything wrong but have just barely started navigating with the new stuff in place.

Thanks for pointing out font color change issue on things we've clicked on already. I notice that when I'm cruising through CraigsList, since I've switched to Firefox the same thing happens and I don't know what I've already looked at.

Changes look great--you are really tearing it up lately! Thanks for all of your TLC on this site.

Ralph
