Heres the ultimate question, Snuggle or Downey?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Lemme just share my story on this. :) I dont like Snuggle. I adored Downy and thats ALL i ever used.....till one day, after buying a 140 load bottle at Costco....I find they had changed the scent. Now what the hell are these people thinking? I did 2 loads with it......smelled like a lil old lady on wash day.....and returned the whole freakin thing. Now I just use the unscented cause NOTHING smells as good as the REAL April fresh Downy....certainly not that "grandma is going to church smell". Just my 2 cents her, kids.

Re: Snuggle or Downey:

It is Snuggle for me, I guess because everyone that knows me, considers me just a Big Lovable Huggable Teddy Bear. I think that the Teddy Bear for the Snuggle Mascot also was enough reason for me as well, to originally try Snuggle Fabric Softener. I used the Dryer Sheets for quite a while, but now I've been using the Liquid in the Washer, mainly because I feel that the Liquid in the Washer, seems to cover more of the Laundry for softness, than the Dryer Sheets.

I've been using Snuggle lately and it's very nice. We have used the "traditional blue" version in the past (IIRC it's no longer made) and it was a nice softener back then as well!

I have been an avid user of Downey Enhancer (Advanced) ever since it came on the market. However, I really do like Snuggle. I've used it one other time. I started using it cuz of the cute little product mascot (gee, I wonder why) and TCOX6912 said he used it too. Right now I am using the Emarld Stream. It's a great combination with the Fab Rain Forest detergent. Now I can't wait to smell clean laundry out of the dryer or clean sheets on the bed.

While I am an enthusiastic fan of real life teddy bears, the whole mascot thing for Snuggle (as well as the name itself) left me cold. I'm a Downy boy, and that's where I need to stay!

But I regretfully agree that the original Downy is no longer with us and what a shame that is - I loved the almost sensual shape and nice graphics of the old packaging, and of course the smell. I think my mom SOAKED the towels in Downy when I was a kid, LOL

Suavizante de ropa

I liked Downy, and had never tried snuggle but I might. I`ve been using Gain original scent, but thats dissapeared around here so I switched to their Island Fresh and got a suprize the first time I used it because the color was orange not blue! Its ok but I still like the original scent better.

Actually either is NOT for me.

Too greasy, gummy and too much residue.
For some reason those scents disagree with me. VIOLENTLY.
Now a little Lavender Sachet is another story........HA!

Three was a comedienne that said no man (eligible bachelor, actually) would use thosesscents; these are devices for married women to keep other women on notice that the wearer is taken... LOL.

I myself use the cheap supermarket-brand watery stuff (pink or yellow) in the F/L-er. Much milder scent.
Putting this in the bleach dispenser means.... in Freida... (the Frid-GE-More) it gets added to the first rinse.
Cuts suds, and then get rinsed-out in subsequent rinses.

Well, IMHO........

Give me BAR/CLUB scents such as booze, cigarettes, cologne and leather, and I'm happy.

OK OK I always shower afer going out...but the association with fun is SO SO SO SO strong.

Well here it's gotta be Comfort for me (which is the UK version of Snuggle); although I do also like Lenor Easy Iron (which I found out is exactly the same as Downy Advanced); however I'm not keen on any of the other Lenor scents; and I feel that apart from Lenor Easy Iron, Comfort variants soften much better than Lenor to the extent you can use half a cap of Comfort and still have soft clothes whereas with Lenor you've got to use a full cap to achieve the same levels of softness. Plus most of the Lenor scents are pretty sickly IMO compared to Comfort. But then I grew up with Comfort Blue; so I guess I've just got accustomed to it :-).

Usually, I buy whatever's on sale or whatever I have a coupon for. Lot of times I'll get the store brand. Other than Gain, the scent never seems to hang around long enough to make much of a difference to me.

The best thing about Downy is the end of the old commercials where they'd drop the bottle on the pile of towels in slow motion. Man, they couldn't have made the towels look any softer if they tried!

OK. I used to like Downy a LONG, LONG time ago, before they changed the scent and made it concentrated. Then I tried Snuggle, and FELL IN LOVE! Snuggle smells AWESOME. I try to use only half-way up to Line 1 on the cap, however in my FL. Too much FS tends to make clothes seem greasy and go limp. It's hard to keep a nice crease in shirts or pants when you have too much FS. I find that Downy is just too strong, and really takes a toll on clothes. Using less than the recommended dose of Snuggle will go a long way in helping your clothes stay newer, longer.

For my dress pants, I like to use the El Cheapo pink fabric rinse. It reduces static cling, without making the clothes go limp. Either way, I have realized that some Distilled White Vinegar in the final rinse along with the FS helps the clothes come out MUCH better!
