Hey Stan! About That "Stinky" Persil

I sent our Dear Laundress

some Persil Universal Powder a while back, the scent was so strong! I think she still has it but she had to keep it sealed to keep it from knocking her out too.
What say you Dear ? How long ago was that!
Can't understand why everything has to be scented, have we forgotten what just clean line dried laundry is supposed to smell like?

After we had the "hot" Persil, I was wondering if it was a manufacturing defect, like someone had put in too much scent. When I said it stunk the house up, it really made every last room in the entire house smell like it.

After 6 months in the garage, it smelled like normal Persil again. I think thie was back around 2011 or so when it happened. Unfortunately, due to allergic skin we can't use Persil anymore. We're stuck with All Free and Clear.

And we have noticed that with All Free & Clear the liquid version washes out of the laundry in the rinse cycle faster than the powder version does. It's usually the other way around.

Thanks for the tip about the liquid version rinsing better!
Larry.. some of the overly scented detergents out there now...I'm not sure I'd be thankful LOL
At least the cow smell would wash out! Some of these detergent scents stick on after several laundering's with un scented detergent !

Some detergents and fabric softeners have a technology where after the clothes have been laundered with the product a residue stays on the clothing, and when the fabric moves more fragrance is released. This can take awhile to wash out. The idea is to keep clothing smelling fresher longer.

how do Biotex and Aldi smell?

I know rating scents is very subjective, but using the fragrance of Persil as meaning very strong - how strongly scented is Biotex prewash powder or the Aldi line of detergents. Anyone used them with AEG? Low foaming? Does the fragrance linger once dry?

Thanks again! I really feel like I've stumbled upon a goldmine of laundry aficionados in a position to give great info - I thank you all for your useful comments and am so happy to have found this site :)

Well...thank you very much that's extremely generous of you..yes please let me know what the postage would be and we can figure out how to do this...also is there any detergents over here you would like?
You sure did stumble into a great place, so many here are a wealth of knowledge, I also just joined recently but I was reading for many months prior and even at my age of 59 I have learned so much from the brilliant minds here....take care Cheryl

Thank you Jeni...but are there any detergent over here you would like to have?? I've never been to Canada maybe you have access to USA detergents..lol...

I'm a little late to the discussion, but I've found the MieleCare powders to be much less strongly scented than the Megaperls. They also have a Sensitive powder in the lineup - I sniffed the box at my local retailer and it seemed pretty faint.
I've also heard good things about the Ecover powder which is unscented. It's on my "try next" list, once I can manage to finish at least one of my open packages of detergent...

Romany

I'm so excited, the Persil arrived and of course I'm about to do laundry. Check will be in the mail Monday. Thank you much Jennifer, I'll send you a email shortly.
For those of you that don't know Romany (Jennifer) sent me a box of Persil mega color perls for the cost of postage. This was a very generous kindness.
Jeni, in the future if there's anything you'd like from my neck of the woods don't hesitate to ask.
Now its time for me to read the box and start some laundry.
PS...my familys nic name for me is mama pinky and the persil is pink lol. Again thank you Jennifer
