Hi, all!

We're needing to replace a commercial dishwasher/sanitizer for a fraternity kitchen, and comparing models/options. Currently considering an under-the-counter model, and looking at used Hobart LX30H and SR24H models.

Could anyone give me a sense of the difference between the two model lines? I know the SR claims 14 racks per hour and the LX 30 racks per hour. Someone has suggested that the SR's four minutes per cycle could clean dishes better than only two minutes per cycle. I'm assuming there are other differences in design that offset the added cleaning from just twice the time spent cleaning(?).

Thanks in advance for any thoughts. This has been a lot to process....

Go for the LX-30-H

IMO the best undercounter dishmachine  EVER!  The wash system is very effective and the service history is very good.  I also like that this machine uses a continuous feed system of a recirculated wash and fresh water rinse through separate arms like a large warewasher.  This also is what makes it faster.

As far as sanitation goes the fact that the LX-30 holds more wash water and has a tank heater makes it MUCH more likely to maintain the 150-160f wash temp needed to heat the dishes enough during the wash for proper sanitization in the final rinse.  The fact that the rinse water sprays straight from the booster onto the dishes also help make sure there is no residual wash water and the dish surface hits 160f-71c needed to meet health Dept. standards.

The water and chemical usage will also be less with the LX-30.
