I managed to cobble together a video of Mats fantastic 3203 Keymatic washing machine last weekend.

Its not brilliant but you get the idea ;-)

Its been done before

If I had realised you could have had video of a whole cycle long ago - I filmed it at the 60th Anniv meet in 2008 - I probably stil have it if you would like a copy - its no trouble to burn a dvd. Jack (VintageHoover) took fotage of teh mechanicals with the back off - he may still have it.
You are right, it is THE most amazing machine - I never thought I would ever see one again

Yes it was the successor

You are correct, a completely all new machine, launched alongside the simpler and de-featured Hoover Automatic, which had no powder dispenser (its on the top, left hand rear on this machine) rotary programme selector/two rocker switches and no stainles steel wash drum. Paul can correct me, but I believe the first models were cold fill only.

Both were revised fairly early on, the Keymatic getting a powder dispenser drawer so it could (in theory) go under a worktop and the Automatic programme selector being revised to a single "Pull For On", shall I say conventional, rotary dial. I think at the time the KM became hot and cold fill, not sure but I suspect the Automatic remained cold fill

Hi Gary

Thank you so much for posting, I've always wanted to see one of these machine's. Looking forward to the spin cycle if you have it.

All the best

Hiya people....

Yep Al, the first widebody frontloaders were both cold fill machines.

The 3203 Keymatic De Luxe, of which Mathew's machine is the star of the vid....

The 3203 was replaced....

by the visually identical, but hot water solonoid equipped, 3203H Keymatic De Luxe.
This was the first usage of the 'H' to signify hot and cold fill machines, in the Hoover range....
