Hoover A3110 knocking noise

I have posted a short video of my Hoover A3110 making a knocking noise on YouTube. Not sure how to post a link but if you type on "hoover a3110 knocking noise" the video comes up.

Knock knock

While it could be the spider or bearings, the heater support could have broken off, causing the heater to hit the tub. I had a Logic that did this and simply fitted a shorter heater element

Ah, now that is a good idea and definitely worth a look. Hadn't even considered that! Thank you, will report back later in the week when I have looked.

Any other ideas still welcome.
