Hi im new here and. Hoping to make friends with you all?
I've been interested in washers for a while (1960s to 1994 at most) but I'm only just starting to collect them, one of my favourites are the hoover electrons and soon I will be getting a hoover electron A3190 it looks in good condition and has instruction manual.
Can anyone give me some information on it and all of the electrons in general please?

Thanks

Welcome to the site!

Hi there,

welcome to the site, I hope you have a wonderful time here and always feel free to ask whatever you want.

Now, I don't know much on Electrons, a user named 'matchboxpaul' will be able to provide a lot of useful information on them, but for basics, most Electrons were released from I think 1979 to about mid 80s??

The most common models are the 'Electron 1100 De Luxe', Electron 800 and their exclusive derivatives (Electron 800/1100 Dual Spin).

Here is a picture of a Hoover A3350 'Electron 1100 De Luxe' Electricity Board Shop model (1985/86).(Apologies to the user for using your picture).

Have fun,

Brandon :)

Logics

Don't forget the Logics! I own two - an early timeline one with the Electron bodyshell that I rebuilt totally and is a spare machine for the family. The other is one that is in occassional use, a very late 1100, in very good order with the Logic body (similar to electron from what I can see), which shall be up for sale soon if you are interested...

logics and electrons

Brandon, I know that the keymatics started the ball rolling for the electrons in the 60s and they ended with the logics, I know how to use them etc but don't know stuff like what shops sold them and how to repair them etc in the future I really want to have the whole collection starting from the slanted keymatic right up to the last logic. What do you think of the model I will be owning soon? (Its taking forever to get it to me there is about a weeks waiting time in replies from the seller and they still need to get its dimensions)

Triumph Toledo I really like the logics too, I don't know where this memory came from but I think that my nan had a logic, I remember turning the little dials and being told of for playing with the door. I think it died when I was about 3 and she still hasn't replaced it today!
Does the washer that you will be selling have all of its stickers and leaflets?

Thanks Luke

Hi Luke and welcome to the forum all the way from Ireland!

The thread in the link below holds all the information you need regarding Electrons and other Hoover machines.

James.

Hi and welcome.
Sounds like you have same in trestle in machines as me. I have particular interest in Hoover machines up to the Newwave/Softwave generation. I myself own quite a number of them from the early slant front Key match through the Electors and Logics. When I can get into the shed I will post some pictures. I also have a Bendix 7147, an Indesit and a few other treasures.
This site is a mine of use full information and interesting posts. Members are also the most friendly bunch of people you will ever come across.

.

Hi hoovermad I love Bendix too! (Amongst most brands)
Where did you get your keymatic from as I've been searching for about a year now...
I'd love videos of your machines too?

Hi Luke,

Sorry I forgot to paste the link into my post. Here it is now for you!

hoovermad

Other than the machine that you previously said that you have what others do you own? And do you have all of the documents etc and did you have to do much work on them?

I got my Keymatic off eBay. They do appear occasionally. It's a 3224. I have around 15 machines in total, mainly Hoovers. Most of them work, some need attention of some sort. It's an ongoing project. The Keymatic, a Hoover 1300 Computer wash and a Timeline 1300 are non runners at moment. When I can get into the shed (I'm storing a friends belongings in it at the moment ) I will take some pictures. I also have an 1100 Electron, an 1100 Electronic, 1100 Computer control Electron and a Timeline dryer amongst others. I'm afraid model numbers elude me at moment without being able to look.

Hoover A3190

Hello and welcome

I have a the first Electron which was the A3190, Mathew from Cardiff has an A3060 which was the first Hoover 1100 spin machine.

I have used mine as a daily driver for a bit over 2.5 years now and love it, they require basic maintenance from time to time, most parts for the motor, suspension and tub you can still get.

They are easy to work on if you have some experience, there are people on here who can help you out with advice etc.

this is a picture of my Electron 1100 and the matching tumble dryer in my living room before I installed them

hoover a3190

Hi Gary you have the same as me!
How many years were the a3190s sold for? If I tell you the serial number? Can you date it for me?
Thanks

Hey!

Hey Luke! Welcome to the site, nice to see another young person (My age!) here!

I've got 11 washers, 5 dryers and a collection of vacuum cleaners. Mainly to the title of the thread, one of those washers is a Hoover Logic A3790 (1300 spin).

As for dating Hoover machines, I think that the first digit after the model number is the year (You need to know the decade), and the 2 after that are the month, I think thats how it works but I'm not an expert on Hoover machines!

I'll grab some pics of my Logic later on :)

Chris

Here's mine

Here's one of my Logics, a 'Premier', which may have to be sold when the Hotpoint top-loader arrives. It's a late one, with the double-glazed door. Washes very well indeed and is in very good order - even the plastics have not gone that horrible yellow/sicky colour and the lettering has not faded. Who knows, I may even keep it, it is in such good order and works that well.
