Hoover UK Washers & Dryers - 1st Keymatic to Final Electron

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Back to earlier in the decade,

The keymatic A3112, in full Brushed stainless steel effect.

This isn't an exclusive, just one that over the years the lacquer has been warn off, but after initial disapointment at it not being mint, I think it would look quite contempory in a run of gloss white units and a stainless steel oven etc.

I personally would like to remove the british bulldog, as it is quite warn and fade, I think the machine would look better without it, what do you think?

paul.
a3264 panel was a darker green more like a bottle green gold door trim that tapped away till i pulled it off or like the a3254 pic they dropped off!! letters on panel were a mix of gold and white?? we also had a hoover tumble dryer purchased in 1989 from a eastern electricity shop!! can,t remember the model number wil wait for pic of it to trigger memory lasted from 1989 to 2003!! died of motor failure and old age!! replaced by hotpoint tdl 32p dryer which is still going strong today!

Hi Mathew, Louis and Scott.

Mathew - great to finally see nice big portrait photo of your A3112 Keymatic 1100. It's different but, as we all get over the initial shock of it, we all come to the quick realisation that it looks SUPERB!
I am not going to say one way or the other about the sticker, apart from to say that I'd leave it on! lol :-)
As woth all these series of machines, its the basic versions that are missing - now you have an A3110, 3112 and 3114 we have to find you a 3108, 3166 and 3170. May the serach continue.

Louis - the Selectamatic is a great machine, though when i saw the internals for the first time, the indicator lever alarmed me somewhat. Made of old plastic, with a hinge half way along.
Fires back with some force too - I was just waiting for a snapping plastic sound. Paranoid about plastic - thats what owning many Hotpoint 95's does to you :-)

Scott - my monitor is pants and when I looked at the 'British racing Green' that I posted I thought 'way too light'.
It really does sound like a smart machine. Mathew has mentioned to me before about seeing a green facia'd electron and maybe your mums machine was it.

There was never an exclusive Rumbelows dryer, to match the A3428 and all thats now left are a handful off odd job machines, which I will cover as the Electron series 4 machines later in the week.

Hi Paul, what an amazing thread. It's great to see so many machines from the past, machines that we have and I remember family and friends having. Thankyou so much for all the time and effort you have put into this thread. xx
