I used Mikes do as an opportunity to unveil the 3236H, now that pretty much all the stuff has been sorted out with it.
Was also nice to be able to thank 4 people directly involved in its preservation : namely Seamus, Matt, Gary and Mathew. Cheers guys....

Fantastic, hope all had lots of fun.
I had a Hoover 4805 Auto-Jet dishwasher for many years, the dreaded rust finished it off, there was some much patching up you could not tell what was the original sump or liquid metal filler. It used to literally boil wash the dishes, great clouds of steam come out of the air vent in the front.

Jon glad you enjoyed yourself!! everytime I looked around you where glued to the machines, and it was great you brought your laundry to do as well!!! wont mention the sudzlock...well go on then!!! it wasnt your fault at all, that Tesco Handwash & twinny is the worst of any i`ve tried for sudzing!!! get yourself a twinny and use automatic powder!!

Greg, fab machine, videos on their way, the pulsator spin sslightly slower than the twintubs but just enough to almost roll the clothes around the drum from front to back , almost like a figure of 8 motion...and none of this balancing, straight into spin!!!

The video of 3226 is great; I have always wanted to see how this machine worked.
Nice to see the spin and just how far the tub lowers when full of wet laundry; you can see it rising as the spin slows down.

Mike, that's a prize winner. Just look at that, a beautiful, live, pulsating sea creature. How we begged to know how that pulsator worked and what it could do.
And now we know. THANK YOU! And I'd love to come over. After the impending global meltdown, the Concord will be back with fast cheap flights to England ;-> I'll be there.

It looks like you all had a great weekend and luckily good weather too! I love the Keymatic and i would so love to get mine up and running (needs a door boot (dont they all!) and a clutch adjustment to allow it to spin) it sound so quiet when washing. The video almost makes its sound like its gently munching the clothes as they are being loaded! I like the gentle swaying too.
Glad the bendix found a good home, my neighbour had one and it died a death like many of that design where the outer drum rusted from the inside out , gently leaking un noticed for years and eventually rotted its own chasis and welded itself to the carpet. I know its owner was up set to see how we struggled to get it out and how it litterally fell to bits ( its was her first auto and she chose Bendix from her memories of using Bendix's at laundro mats in the 50's)
Mike i noticed you talked of "spa of Neil and Bob" , do you/they restore machines as i'm tempted to get some work done on my keymatic if its possible!

Lee, this dishwasher is in very good condition and after checking hoses for leaks & adjusting a hinge we plugged it in and managed to use if open just to see how it operated!! it certainly shoots jets of water all over the place!!!
Bjorn, yes your family dishwasher is in safe hands and working fine, am just putting together a mini vid, its certainly powerful, there are some photos of it working in the garden, (cue Paul!!) was very surprised that there was no leaks from the hoses etc...thats Hoover for you...Who Better..!!!

Hi Richard, we are having a splurge on the Keymatics at the moment, the amount of pipes inside them really has to be seen to be believed!!! some of the boots have lasted well, others particularly the turquoise ones just turn to mush, Oh to have some made!!
The "Spar of Neil" is related to Neil from Brum who sprays cars & has done a stellar job on the Hoover 3301 twinny, Morphy Richards spinner & Hotpoint Countess washer, we usually do all we can to mechanically restore them and then have them sprayed!! the great thing about the slope front keymatics is that the cabinet can be taken off for painting etc..Neil matches all the paint accordingly and charges us paint costs & labour etc....
I`ll have a conflab with the teccies, to see if we can pinpoint the problem with spin clutch etc......are the belts in place & turning??

Thanks guys so much for sharing!!! WOO HOO!! I love the photo of y'all watching the Bendix Autowash De-Luxe 4147B--such a universl expression and stance for each of you. Any number of each of us could have been stand-ins and we'd all pretty much have the same universal look, expressions, ... Pretty much the same for watching the Hoover 3236??? Good to see such a nice contengent assembled for the festivities. What a handsome lot you all are too, YEE HAW!!!! But no pics of the washihng up in the kitchen after the food festivities, even if it was a modern dishwasher. And I didn't even get invited to come and take care of all those dishess and pots and pans and such in the dishwaher. :-( although if Lavamat Jon was involved, he'd be BobLoading, doing me proud!!!

Sadly never knew of anyone owning a slant front keymatic - I probably would never have been out of their house LOLOL But I believe it is as iconic of the 1960s, at least in the UK, as the Connie 862 onwards was.
I am just so grateful to you Mike for all the effort you put into saving these old machines, for your encouragement of others to do the same, and for your generous hospitality in allowing all of us to come together to share them
