Hot!: Technivorm Moccamaster Coffee Maker

I would love to have one of these, but the price is too steep right now. I wish there was a place that roasts fresh beans near me.

All this coffee talk made me dig out my Sunbeam vacuum pot and make an afternoon cup (or two). The gasket is hard so I have to boil the top piece to soften it before it will pop onto the bottom, and I have to remove it as soon as the brewing is finished and it cools. For this reason, I don't use it much.

Newco OCS12 coffee maker

is similar to the Technivorm. I bought the Newco a few months ago after reading the "Cooks Illustrated" article. The Newco was not reviewed by the magazine -- perhaps because it is considered a professional quality machine. I got the coffee maker, two thermal carafes, and a box of 1000 coffee filters for less than the Technivorm (it is attractive, but not as interesting looking as the Technivorm). Everyone notices how much hotter the coffee is compared to our previous Hamilton Beach drip coffee maker. And, it is fast with 1400 watts. Im very happy with it.
