Help Support :

Good choice, I like the aqualtis range :D

What's spin on the model?

Hope you're very happy with it when it comes, and yeah i'm also looking forward to pics :)

Thanks

@nrones

yes it has come and so far i'm very impressed with it, the only cycle i have used so far is cottons and jeans cycle and i am very impressed with the wash ability for example high water levels and its gentle with my fabric as for i invest alot of money in my clothes so i expect maximum care unlike my zanussi and i believe it senses the load on the first 10mins of the cycle before it fills the proper amount then gives a new reading of the cycle time and the rotation speeds increase and i'm use less soap than i did with my zanussi jetsystem because the second time i used it i did a load of whites and i added my normal amount ariel liquid and 3 squirts of bleach and it created a very sudsy wash with excellent results the real test is can it get the grease off my chef uniform as for the zaunssi did an ok job only if i presoaked them for 1hr then in the machine for a prewash + hot wash which the cycle on the zanussi with the prewash used to take 3hrs 08mins for hot wash (very long i know) but i personally believe a long wash is the way to go. i will try and take some pic soon as i find the lead for my phone

Hi Dave

That sounds very good, I like it how it senses the load then does thing accordingly.

I'd love to hear how it copes with your chef uniform :)

Thanks

Take care

Just a thought.

If chlorine bleach is mixed with detergent, it not only kills off the enzymes, but the oxygen bleach in the detergent mixes with the chlorine bleach, and the 2 cancel each other out.

Chlorine bleach should really be added seperately, in a soak (not in the washing machine) then completely rinsed off before proceeding to the normal wash. Chlorine also dosen't work in warm-hot water

With a detergent like ariel, I really don't think you would need it, and I think if you tried it without bleach you would have much better results.

Glad you like your new machine, Matt is right though about the use of chlorine bleach. If you are going to use it it should be added towards the end of the wash cycle or into the 1st rinse (As US washers do) . Read you machines instructions though as I have had machines in the past where it is not recomended that chlorine bleach is used as it can be harmful to the machine.

Looking forward to hearing more about your new machine.

mmm ok, i can't do without my bleach

but the bleach is actually hindering the performance and potentially damaging to your machine, so surely it would be better to stop using it? Or perhaps it would be a good idea to use bleach specifically designed for laundry and add it on a pre-wash or a rinse, rather than in the main wash?

mmm ok, i can't do without my bleach

fair enough, we all have our own ways of doing things.

But by adding it to the main wash, you get no bleaching effect from the chlorine bleach, no bleaching effect from the oxygen bleach in the detergent, and no enzyme effect, so results will theoretically be on par with using a non-bio liquid.

There is an ongoing debate on here about whether or not chlorine bleach will actually corrode the drum spider in a washing machine, personally I see no reason to risk it (especially not with a brand new machine).

My recommendation if you really do still want to use bleach would be:

follow the doses on the bottle of bleach, with the domestos I have to hand thats 15ml per 5 litres of water. Find an appropriate container mix bleach and TAP COLD water (chlorine bleach is less effective in warm water, found that out on here and personal experience shows this too) add clothes and swish around, then soak overnight.

Next day put the soaked clothes through a rinse and spin programe on your machine (not just the final rinse, the full cottons rinses), then run your normal cycle with detergent and WITHOUT bleach.

Quite an involved process, but I guess that's why I only use chlorine bleach as a last resort, having tried everything else

@aquacyle

i never said i used chlorine bleach, i said bleach it could be any type bleach, vanish bleach, oxi bleach etc i buy bleach in bulk so i use empty squirt bottles which u can refill to apply the chemical to the wash as for the actually the bulk bottle its self is too large and i never said used detergent and bleach in one main wash, i just stated the two chemicals i like to use on my whites which created a sudsy wash, i think the way i wrote was a typo error, anyways enough on how i do my laundry lets moving on swiftly.

does anyone know

does anyone know where i can get these for the aqualtis washing machine as for i saw it on this video, i believe its designed for the shirt cycle. Fast-forward to 0:42

that video is a LIE!

When I was deciding on a new washer I choosed Aqualtis just because of that stupid catchy vid!! Maybe that"s why I hated it so much, I expected alot more!!!
Such things doesn"t even exist.. My mother wanted that thing for shirts so desperatley, and even when she went to italy, they said that there"s no such thing...

@nrones

Haha really; that shirt clamp sounded like a good idea that is very misleading for the fact they do not sell or even supply it with the machine. The video is not all fake the only thing i have a question mark on is the shirt clamp but everything about that video seems to be correct they discontinued weight sensor model as for all the new version of the aqualtis now has that function but its automatic because my version of the aqualtis came with refresh balls where u can spray them with febreze of something for the steam cycle and a large wash bag for duvets and pillows, if anyone does know about the shirt thing please let me know.

Your aqualtis is a model from 2009, and video is from 2008!

Yeah, it"s all true, but when this video was made, there were ONLY "old" aqualti"s withouth touch screen buttons, steam, and there was NO aqualtis dryer... this video became much more real when the New aqualtis range was released.
