Hotpoint Countess Gearbox Oil

Hi Jim...
What are you doing a top up...clean out or something else ??
I have just checked the AEI-Hotpoint Service Manual for models KA & KB (Countess) it says:
11. Lubrication for Driving Mechanism - The correct lubricant for the gearbox is 2 pints pf Mobilube BB cat. No. HL.1541 (i think this is just the catalogue re-order number from Hotpoint) and this oil must be used for any additions or replacements.

Thank you both for the replies and sorry about my delay in replying. The gearbox is stripped down to replace the agitater driving head and obviously I wish to replace the gearbox oil before reassembly. The machine is not part of a collection but is in regular use.
