Hotpoint dishwasher

I've posted on here about my hotpoint dishwasher before. I'm again asking for any help regarding it. All it shows on the machine is a catalog # 10maj2 (I'm assuming catalog is the same as model?) My question about it is in regards to the motor and pump. Mine was originally a gravity drain, but I was told could have come with a pump. I want to install a pump for it, but I was told the motors were different weather it had the pump or not. I need to replace the motor, so thats not a big issue. I have the model # of the motor without the pump as well as the part number. but I need the model number for the motor with the pump. Also does anyone know where I could get the pump for it as well? will a newer style pump work? I appreciate any info. thanks.

If this machine is like the earlier Hotpoint models it used a separate electric pump. There might even be empty terminals on the timer for it, my gravity drain hotpoint has them. You can simply install a new GE plastic top-load washer pump in there as long as their is a way to electrically control the pump.

I'll consider buying it from you as I'm wanting one just for looks and not caring if it works as I'll just use it to drain handwashed dishes and for dish storage. Yours looks just like the model I want, except the one I am hoping for has a nice lighted indicator down on the lower left hand side. I'm also looking for one that has the top rack that slides out rather than rests on the lower rack. If anyone knows of where to find one like I am describing, especially in the Washington DC area, please let me know.

1952crestwood: I appreciate your intrest in the machine, but even if I find I can't make it work, Steve and I will just keep it for decorations. We already have it in the spot in the kitchen till we can find the parts for it. This is what it looks like in the new kitchen

Yes, just attach the pump on the outlet port to the gravity drain line.

Saw one of our beloved Hotpoint DW's on TV.

Hey to all the lovers of the Hotpoint dishwashers like this one. I've been catching the old series "Bachelor Father" on Retro Television Network, and in the kitchen sits a nice, new model just like the above one, but with the round, lighted indicator dial at the botton left (like I'm looking for). CountryFord, your installation looks great, and I really do hope you can get it going. Funny, your "handle" being CountryFord. I own a 1964 Ford Country Sedan station wagon in a turquoise called Pagoda Green with a white roof. Everytime I see your postings, I think of my car! Have a great day everyone!

My "CountryFord"

Country Sedan that is. Sorry it's not the best picture, but it's the last I took of it when I visited it up at the restoration shop in PA, where it's sort of stalled in the restoration process. It's all going back to a totally stock 1964 appearance. I have christened it Stepford to bring in both the Ford name as well as a little self targeted humor since friends think I'm too much like a Stepford Wife sometimes. LOL.

Getting back to the vintage Hotpoint subject, I thought you might enjoy this little scan I got of the exact model I'm looking for, but in your pink color. Hope it's not something that everyone has "seen to death" as avid collectors have sometimes seen it all, but just in case....here goes.
