we had the model like it, was made in 1984, the buttons all in the same places, but the controls where not angled and had a chrome door. I loved it

Its been posted before as well, lovely machine, but £50 is a lot of money for a damaged machine, clearly the eBayer wants to milk the collectors here. It could be the only one in existance now. I do remember seeing one in the back of a car about seven years ago, it may have been headed for the junkyard, first ever Microtronic I'd seen, it was a mystery machine as I didn't know anything about it, as I'd never seen a Microtronic at the time I only knew about the later Microtronics from the manuals on the web, so the angled panel one remained a mystery until someone posted a picture of it here and I recognised it.
@buzzman1982 your machine must have been a later New Generation Microtronic 95840/2, pictured below as those began at that time. I'm pleased to say at least one example of that machine is preserved!

I'd say it would be hard work to get up and running.
I have the rare 1985 version with my name on it whenever the current owner is ready to give up.

OF COURSE ITS RARE! I have only seen one of these in my entire life so please someone save it here. Model X2000 (I think). you could use it as a statue of Henry VIII in your porch.

yes Paul and myself would of loved to give it a home but its a bit too far away and wayyyyy too expensive!
We have the spare parts im sure to get it back to being right but the £50 price tag is way over odds for what it is.
Looks to me like the later Best Buy model and not a core range model.

always hated my 1st name so decided a few years ago to reverse my middle and first name hence the confusion.

I sometimes get replies to adverts where they are looking for £80 for a 1990 Hotpoint Supermatic which is mad.
Everything you see in my picture is free. The only thing I bought are the spares to fix them.

Hi all.
I have a problem with my computer, as it refuses to let me sign into the forum - just returns to sign in screen.
Then, all of a sudden, I can visit the site and find I am signed in. Currently however computer is saying 'NO'.
As such, I am a weekend visitor only unless I am brave and discrete and sign in at work (as I am doing now).
Re the Microtronic.
£50 is a tad high BIN for a machine that doesnt work and is in such a visually shot to pieces condition.

The machine is a 18871 800rpm 'Best Buy' model and is called a 'Mictrotronic L.E'.
The core models were:
18780 - silver facia 800rpm X2000 model
replaced by
18880 - silver facia 1000rpm X2000 model (the machine in the other picture is an 18880).
The Best Buy and exclusive models were:
18871 Best Buy 800rpm, with white cabinet
18872 Best Buy 1000rpm with almond cabinet (possibly 800rpm - cant remember accurately with this one)
&
18873 Comet exclusive 1000rpm.
All the above were branded 'Microtronic L.E' and have pictures of them all, apart from 18872 or 18873, which were late production models.
Will keep watch and see if anything happens with it.

Just a thought, because whilst i'd like it (my Gran had the exact 800rpm model when i was a toddler), i'm A) knowhere near Norfolk, B) Don't have £50, but could contribute abit and C) Don't have spares but again would be happy to pay for some.
Obviously it depends on likely cost of getting it working, & i'm far from expert when it comes to Hotpoint spares cost (ie if the PCB is shot then it may be curtains for it i guess, or mega bucks to repair/replace), but if anyone else thinks it's worth a joint effort, let me know, either on here or on Facebook.
I'd certainly not be inclined to pay £50 without making some lower offers first though. Im afraid £50 is taking advantage & i don't wanna play that game!

Now I know Hotpoint Front Loaders are your bag, but I thought the only slanty Microtronic that was L.E. was the short-lived bronze number just before the New Gen models? I know Hotpoint were changing editions every couple of months at that stage (think this is rare - what are the chances of finding an 18780, or for that matter a 15690 with push-buttons!) but do agree that this is Best-Buy (was it one of the Super-buys in fact)...I'm probably wrong of course...

Ive just looked through my inbox & found your email, but i have a facebook contact with a similar name & interpretted the title as one of the several cleverly worded emails i get that, when opened, are just a link which is usually to a virus, so i presumed it was an automatically-generated email using my Facebook contacts' name and therefore i didn't open it - it was just sat in my inbox.
It's only upon closer inspection that i've seen it's from you, so please accept my apologies. The amount of junk emails i get run into over 100 a day so the filtering out process is less thorough that it would be ideally.
It's a shame i missed your email before the item ended, but i'll reply to your email directly so that if it's re-listed we are further forward.
