Hi, Hotpoint have made great Seperates but their Washer Dryers were great too. I'm especially fond of them because my aunt owned a WD22 from 1995. I miss it so much since it died of electrical problems due to being used as a normal washer for a quarter of it's life after she moved. It would have been used as Washer Dryer after she moved too but the Dryer part of it burned out and therefore was isolated by my local engineer. I loved it so much and probably all possible hopes of finding one are banished. It was Almond. I've only saw inside it once but i don't have great memories of it. Can all British/Irish Hotpoint fans try to help me on reminicing the History Of Hotpoint Washer Dryers? Pics would be nice eg. inside and pics of models or info on them etc. Thanks alot and i'll be back tomorrow to check up. James

Well, I had a 9934 washer dryer from about 1989 - 1994. It was a fun machine to watch but Hotpoint machines had a design flaw which ripped the clothes. I'm sure it was all over watchdog in the mid 90s so that WD22 should have been fine.

My machine had pulse spinning which i thought was cool.

I don't remember the machine drying all that well mind!

Here is a picture I lifted offa an ebay listing posted here and a link to the instruction manual.

Design Flaw?

I heard about this design flaw but never knew what it was to do with the machines. Hot air duct into the drum? I think the 9934 would have been made in 1988/89? Late 80's anyway. I'm the youngest member here i'd say but i love Hotpoints just as much as anyone older. I wonder would anyone have pictures of the first washer dryer Hotpoint made? I need inside pictures of a Hottie washer dryer too. I wonder if there is a site with the Watchdog program on it. The WD22 had no problems whatsoever and it lasted 12yrs from 1995 the year i was born, probably another reason i liked it! After watchdog, Hotpoint must have went back to the drawing board for the washer dryers in their 1994/5 range, the exterior design of all of the machines were dubbed as 'softline' and had a laminated worktop instead of the metal ones used on the new generation machines. The motors had electronic speed control too. James

Flaw

Hi Guys.

My mum had a hotpoint microprofile 1400 spin, dont know the model number, but its the model after the 1300 spin version. It was a fab machine, but, there was a gap between the drum & door boot, and small things would go missing, ie, small hankies, trainer socks. Also, it had super spin of 1400rpm, but what the machine did was spin at say 1000rpm for 4 mins, then ramp up to 1400rpm for about 10 seconds.
