I am at my wit's end. I have a Hotpoint (which in my mind seems to be a cheaper GE - repairs are pretty identical) model #HTWP1400FWW. For about a week, it's skipped over the post-wash spin cycle. I have reset the logic board, blown out/cleaned the water fill sensor tube, removed and cleaned the water pump, and fooled a little with the disassembled timer switch/front spin knob. Here are the symptoms: Usually, it's drain, drain, drain, then start in on this God awful rhythmic sucking pump sound which is really loud, then just fill for rinse. It does spin on final cycle. I have got it to actually spin once after wash but it must have been luck, because it was after all I did above - yesterday - and today it skipped again. Anyone have any ideas?? I am at wit's end.

no spin

I had a hotpoint a few years ago and it did not spin after wash. it just drained than added a little water . I call hotpoint and was told that that is how it is designed to work to save water. I HATED it. what I would do is just run each load twice. that is the only way to get the cloths rinsed. I replaced it with speed queen top loader and love it. but I gave the hotpoint to my daughter and I wash her cloths because she has cystic fibrosis so I am still using the hotpoint at her house every week and I still run each load twice.

I feel your pain, I have and Admiral TL as my extra washer (made by whirlpool) it spins after the wash. However the amount of rinse water it provides is shameful. I also run it twice when I use it. My compliments on their attempts to save water, I have no choice but to repeat the cycle as well. Thank goodness I have an LAT model Maytag, I will be very sad when it finally gives out. I guess I will try a frontload but I am in no hurry yet. Also grateful to live where water is abundant.

Yeah I think the BOL Hotpoints don't have that after wash spin. My Hydrowave didn't spin after if the PowerRinse option was off. It also wouldn't fill to the selected water level either. I didn't use it much lol.
