Kevin went to the Philippines and sent me some detergent in packs !

This was a few weeks ago since no internet for weeks I finally got around to think him.

Thanks Kevin...! That box from the postal service was the best smelling mail I have ever got.

The Detergent...

1. Surf with Oxi-bubbles Lime scented is the one I will use.

2. Tide Tabu...Joe in Philly posted this in another thread awhile ago.

3. Pride what a good time for this it's pride month.

Laundress talk about the detergent packets for some of them are if not all for hand washing ,

which again we discussed in my thread about the Tide Bar.

I also shared this Detergent with Martin ( yogitunes )

Also Ingmar ( Gorenje ) not as close to his collection of detergents showed some packets of his wounderful collection.

Here we go...

I did a test for Kevin he called and ask how the detergent was we did a mock wash on the phone.

But a phone does not do justice when far away.

Sooo here is a bright load ...

Light shorts kakies

pajama tops

shorts

hoody

three white sweaty clothes

two are sweaty pillow cases.

The first video is a little off but it was done in real time and real mistakes lol.

Sorry but you guys get the point.

I have been really sort of feeling quilty of useing water in top loaders

So I take the rinse GRAY water and recycle back into the main wash when doing multi loads.

As long that its clean or not much lint in the water.

Surf Oxi-Bubbles Lime smells good.
One packet watch Sudsy.
Only one bucket of water because I was hand holding the camera ...
The next bucket was put in after so the basket was half full which created suds.

2. Adding clothes to the water which will kill some suds not quite yet time
from the dirt will soon.

<iframe width=480 height=390 src= frameborder=0 allowfullscreen></iframe>

Adding those sweaty whites WILL KILL SUDS LOL!
Amazing how white clothes challenges detergent.
As you can see at the coming out of video 2.. The suds in this one has subsided.

Final Rinse was very clean.
The sound in this video dropped out kind of interesting as you will here the smacking of the water.

<iframe width=480 height=390 src= frameborder=0 allowfullscreen></iframe>

All done and hung out.
All I all it did a really good job but not for heavy soiled white T-shirts..
there where stans which clorine bleach took the rest of the way out.
Maybe if I try it at a much higher temp it might get the stains out.

Great videos! I thought you were going to wind up with a big, huge suds-cake, but those whites knocked it down. Love the waterfall lint filter on your Whirlpool.

It's fun to try out detergent from faraway places, isn't it? I had a bag of lime-scented Mexican detergent (the brand name escapes me at the moment) and loved the scent.

SPEED---High Impact. That's awesome, but don't snort any of it, LOL.

Martin gave me this sample of Wisk I will try that next.
Some of the guys here had mixed feelings about it hey what the heck i'll try it.
It smells good.. not the orignal but not crying no more for something where not getting anymore.
Thanks Martin...
Thank you Kevin.
Bye guys.

In Case You Didn't Know

I'm sure there's a majority of people on here who already know this, but I'll mention it anyway.

Whether it's white items or colored items that are sweaty, the main reason why the suds get "killed" is due to the residue of salt in your perspiration.

I read something from one of the household columnists a few years back who said if you want to get rid of suds in the wash cycle, use either a little bit of fabric softener or salt (add enough until you see the suds start to dissipate).

Salt and suds

Salt does work in the dishwasher I have used it a few times when hand dish liquid got used by mistake..

Actually adding laundry is a fairly common way to knock down suds. My mother used to fill both of her Kenmores, add the detergent when the agitation started and then add the load. The suds would start to come up quickly, but were just as quickly knocked down to a moderate level once the soiled clothes were added.

The instructions for the Bendix Economat and Dial-a-Mat washers stressed filling the machine before adding detergent or laundry. They said that the proper amount of sudsing detergent should produce a 2 to 3 inch layer of suds on the water before the clothes were added. The agitation was so powerful you could not deterimine this while the machine was on so you had to pull the power cord out of the outlet to stop it and let the suds rise to make sure you had enough detergent before restarting it and adding the clothes. After you were familiar with the machine and your detergent you did not have to to the suds-measuring step. Like early GE washer timers before 1957, Bendix did not have an on-off switch in them for quite a while, using a Master ON-OFF switch outside the timer even well into the Duomatics. If you have never had the opportunity to watch a rubber-tub Bendix wash, you need to find the opportuinty to do so.

You are very welcome!

Hey Darren, it was my pleasure, I'm happy to see you have been enjoying and getting good use out of them!

Detergent

Wow, I'm still sitting on mine Kevin. I promise I'll try them, but I almost think they're too cool to use up.

I haven't tried mine either.....

But the Pride detergent got a lot of attention from some friends the other day, as I had it out on the counter and the bright colors got noticed. One person picked up the long strip of Pride paks and looked at me stunned - "Something you want to tell us Gordon?" as if the pacs were giant condom wrappers!!!

Been trying to get rid of a big bottle of Total Care Tide and Tide w/Bleach, so I've not let myself try anything else until these are gone. Thought I'd try the lemon Tide first though....

Wow, it does sound like a laundromat!  How cool.  Now if they only had burnt-gas-dryer and Gain-Tide-Clorox-All-Xtra detergent fragrance in a bottle, we'd be all set for ultimate simulation.

Oh wow - VERY VERY COOL and funny

I had never thought to try playing all those videos at once, and YES indeed, it does sound like a laundromat. One of my grandmothers lived in a place that had 8 Whirlpool belt-drives lined up in a row, in Avocado. That is exactly what they sounded like.

I can't get over how much watching Darren's machine, with that black Surgilator and WP's greatest cap reminds me of both Grandmother's 1960-something machines. For grins, here's a picture.

Would love to add one of these to my collection....

Wow Gordon....thats the first whirlpool washer I ever got to see, it belonged to my cousin and my Dad had to put a pump on it, after seeing that Surgilator with that plain cap, and then the MagicMix Dispenser Filter in use....I was hooked!....

like you said, have never seen another one like it....
