How were they living without natural gas up there? Why did they need to get a gas stove? I wonder if they got a discount on having the line run by getting gas major appliances. That range is in very good condition from what we can see of it. I wonder how long it will take them to want it back.

That is a very nice looking stove. Seems to be clean and well cared for. The only downside I could see is the size of those ovens. Is it me or are those ovens on the small side?

Tom,

Our house has only had natural gas service since approx. 1994 (house was built in 1925).  Prior to that, it was a fuel oil furnace, electric water heater, and electric stove.  This may have been the same scenario for this seller.  That kind of set up is still common around here, especially in rural areas.

A friend up in rural Oakland County (near Leonard) just mentioned that he's getting natural gas availability this year...will cost him $4000 to contribute to bringing the line down the street plus $500 to run the lines; but he'll make it back in about 18 months. About 1/2 of the residents on the street had to agree to take natural gas.
