That machine looks like it's in beautiful shape, Gee I wonder where they boosted the image of the consumer reports article on that washer for their auction?????? LOL.

Go for it, Jon!!! I love that styling...looks like a wringer washer sans the mangle.

My aunt had one just like that and I remember as a boy watching her taking clothes out of it after it was done spinning and wringing them out by hand. Ha! There must have been something wrong with her machine, but at the time I thought "I wouldn't want a Kenmore...I'd want a Frigidaire like Grandma...because it spins the water out of the clothes."

How very interesting!!! I corresponded with the owner of this machine. She lived around the corner from me. Was all set to let me come by to look at the machine and purchase it, and then I never heard back from her. Now, it appears on ebay.

Some people will do anything for a buck!!!

brain flatulence, I know, but.......

Why are there 5 boltdowns in the pic? I must stop this summer morning drinking!!!!

Yes Ross, I certainly agree. Yours is GORGEOUS. I wanted to personally thank you on behalf of all for hosting such fabulous wash-ins so we may all share your treasures.

Well, the auction ended. Machine did not meet reserve, and I know why! I contacted the seller since she was in Rhode Island, I'm in Rhode Island, and the machine did not meet reserve. I thought I wasn't going behind anyone's back or anything like that. She was very nice. She replied that she had received some inquries about the machine. However, she is looking to get $1500 for this machine.

After I caught my breath, I simply responded by email that we were VERY, VERY far off on the price and I wished her luck.

If anyone does wind up with this machine, let me know.

Ron
