I'm excited that Huebsch has the new line of electronic speed queens! Kinda limited though. Now 1 question still remains, will these be in places like sears, home depot etc. If thats the case, then i might just buy the dryer.

The Canadian line of Huebsch washers is at the link I posted below...

Unfortunately, the new line up isn't there yet.

The Huebsch site you linked to is the American Huebsch site. In the USA, Huebsch is Alliance's commercial brand while Speed Queen is their consumer brand. Same machine, different logo.

I get the feeling that they're probably in the process of revamping their Canadian site completely, but it's probably low on their list of priorities.

Imperial70:

The new line up of machines has a dryer which can sense moisture, unlike the existing dryer which can only sense temperature.

I would have considered a Whirlpool dryer myself, as I admit that I do like the top lint screen idea a lot, but I wanted a proper matched set.

The moisture sensor should help a lot.  I also don't like the finish of the drum.  I like the finish in the whirlpool dryers a lot.  I don't mean to be negative or hurtful.  Speed Queen products of the past are pretty raw IMHO.   Some may call them simple and elegant. I like to think of them as unrefined.

I couldn't disagree more

about the dryer. Love my Imperial dryer, it works better is quieter than my Neptune beast.

The SS drum is smooth and well finished too.

The new SQ versions seem to have more controls on the front but I couldn't get close enough to tell in the photos. Have to wait for unveiling day at the end of Feb.

Whirlpool Dryer's

Certainly were great in the day, but the offerings now reek of cheap tinny materials. It's a shame that such a market leader has come to this...

Imperial dryer uses stainless... but the other models use some type of galvanized metal that is not wearing well IMHO.  I have the non-imperial model.  Once you become accustomed to the whirlpool dryer you shouldn't try something else. :-).  Tinny isn't a problem. That is just part of the perception.

Wait til speed queen wants to make money in the mainstream.  We'll see soon enough.   They already ship their washers with crap in the tub.

hubech has updated there site with the new electronic model the only model not listed is the AWNE92SP113TW01 in other word for the canadien model the model number would start with a z i hope they will had the 4 wash rinse temp model with 3 rinses presoak and soak option ZWNE92SP113TW01 for canada the model numbeu would be like this

Wow.

Looking at the site, it looks like they've severely reduced the amount of selection and models down to just a few. BOL or TOL with not much in between.

They're down to 16 different products, about as much selection, but some things to note:

- You can't buy rear console front loaders anymore. The only models being offered are front console only.
- They've reduced the number of mechanically controlled top loaders from three different mechanical controlled models (BOL/MOL/TOL) to just two, one mechanical and one electronic, with the mechanical model being somewhere between BOL/MOL.
- The stacked washer/dryer has electronic controls and seem to be MOL. Note that the electronic controls for the washer are uniquely MOL compared to the TOL electronic standalone washers.
- Huebsch has kept three three different lines of dryers, like what they had before, except that one is a TOL electronic console, another a MOL electronic console (Same as what is found on the stacked washer/dryer) and a MOL mechanical console. Electric and Gas for all, three rear console, one front console.

This means that it is no longer possible to have a matched set if you buy a rear console dryer first and decide upon a front loader later.

Some other things to note:

The baffles on the washer tub are no longer integrated into the tub like a European style front loader. Instead, they use baffles which look like they are separate from the tub. I have no idea what they're made out of. Some kind of Bakelite from the looks of it?

The Huebsch models don't have any English or French wording on the electronic consoles. I find this highly annoying because the symbols they're using are strange and not commonly found on appliances. (ie. The cycle selection buttons.) Would be better to use numbers and then have a guide beside the console, IMO.

The Hubesch models claim higher capacity and higher spin speeds. I partially worry about reliability because of this, but I'm sure they've tested this to no end.

So far my verdict is that I'm glad I bought my rear control washer and dryer when I did. Rear control front loaders are kind of unique and are mildly rare where I live.

There is a video that explains why the baffles are now solid type instead of the kind that scoop water.  The rep from Alliance states that it eliminates a common source of odor. There is a thread that has it...  I'll take a poke and see if I can find it.

Here you go.  Go down through the thread and you'll see a link explaining the new front loader.

Hope this helps.

As I look at them again...

They somehow look really classy. Clean, easy to use, basicly all you need.
But on the other hand, I can't imagine them in a home. I just can not figure out in which kind of design they would fit in. Except for a pure laundry room.
But then again, I dream about the FL with a heater being avaible in Germany, together with a heatpump version of that dryer. Or even a lower power vented one. Of course this will stay a dream, but if it came true, I would be happy. Simply happy.

Qualin i totaly agree with you

Qualin i agree with you on this 100% and they need to find a way on the electronic model to explain the pic and what cycle it is because with no words it can be confusing because the only way to have a top of the line model eather that model is a topload or a front load would be to order direcly from the us an actual speed queen from the us that is if they ship to canada from the us. Because i have been looking at the website so far the only model thats easy to read is with the conventinal timer knob model Zwn432
