Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

That Cusinart Model:

The DFP-14BCN is essentially a DLC-7 with a restyled, stainless-clad base; the DLC-7 is a workhorse of a machine what was introduced in the early '80s and quickly became the standard against which other machines were judged.

All DLC-7 parts fit it, meaning that the entire range of accessories ever produced for the DLC-7 can be used with it. No one who really cooks would be sorry they owned this machine.

another boring twintub retail memory...

Ah, memories of the American Food Processor...back in the 70's when I bought televisons for The Emporium in San Francisco Cuisinart processors were pricey but smokin hot. The small electrics buyer became an instant merchandising star when she bought a ton of American processors and ran full page ads in the Chronicle/Examiner (very expensive) and all of the other suburban papers. Sales were phenomenal, even with the many defectives...right up to the point they discovered they were not UL approved and therefore strictly taboo. They had to run ads asking that they be returned. I got one for free which is what it was worth. Since there was a lot of competition between buyers I loved every minute of it.

Does anyone have one of these Cuisinart Cooking Blenders? I've seen it advertised for around $79.00 or so. I'm sure that since it's not "geared" it's quiter than the Ronson. Even though it lets you know it's running and then some, you have to appreciate the Ronson's design.

Cuisinart Cooking Blender/Ronson

There are online video demos for the Cuisinart. The stir function isn't continuous. That is, when you saute something, toast nuts, etc. You have to stay with the machine and keep pushing the stir button. Also, it doesn't appear to be thermostatically controlled like the Ronson and the Thermomix, so making custards, simmering, and other tasks would have more guess work. It would be nice if they resolved these issues. It has a more evaporative shape than the Ronson and has replacement parts. It's also $1,925.00 less than a TM.

It's a shame they couldn't have done better jobs of preserving the domed spaces in the Emporium and the City of Paris; they're barely recognizable in their new incarnations. I digress....
