Maybe a month ago I decided to pull the filter out of my KDS17A and clean it. I usually pre rinse pretty well, but still thought it best to check.
Once I had the filter out I found something under there that was a surprise: The little plastic thingy missing from the constant rinse on top!
Was getting the new piece in! My DW is in a corner, so I can only approach it from one side.
Add to it that my eyes are really bad for small things these days, and I was having a heck of a time getting the back screw started!
I finally would up laying on on my back on the door, with the back of my head on the hub of the lower spray arm. I was only in there for maybe 30 seconds or so, long enough to get one screw started.
I can't believe that door supported 160 pounds of me!
Here is the new constant rinse installed, and the DW works great!
Thanks to Greg for his help in identifying the parts on ebay for me!
Taken just for you!
The front panels were originally coppertone, I sent them to an autobody shop to be painted black.
This machine is gorgeous in black!
I'm very proud of this machine, for one I also installed it myself too and it actually works the way it should!
It does wash beautifully too, thanks to some very dear people who have and who knew these DW's before and taught me how to properly load it.
The best part is its DONE with a cycle in 45 minutes!
Toggle I bought that extinguisher in 1997 when I moved to Nebraska. This is the 4th kitchen its lived in.
I've never had to use it ever. Just there for safety's sake.
Hot?? Flaming?? I'm neither one...I'm just me
Greg: I was very lucky to find a NOS upper rack on ebay, and the lower rack came from a good friend. I save the original racks for you as you said you just acquired 2 KDS17's They're waiting for you at Ida's...
Chris: Rebuilding transmissions?? Yeah baby bring it on! I would love to learn that stuff!
Wow - I have rack envy too! What a great looking machine Jeff - and those panels are quite stunning too! Feels good to know it was done right, the first time, by yourself, doesn't it? ;-)
that dishwasher is just like the one we had in the 70`s .in 1980 I rebuilt the motor & pump & had to fix that plastic upper spray head the cover came off & melted to the heating element in 1979
