Help Support :

Okay...

I know what everyone is thinking. Either you're excited about the Norge washing machine or you're excited about the handsome man who owns it. Just saying.

Best of luck with the washer. Keep us posted and take lots of pics....of the machine of course.

Damn, that is one cute hat...<3

Great washer BTW, hope you can fix it. You look like somebody who can fix anything ;o)

I found a Norge

Ha ha thanks guys for the compliments.. I have some bad news I called a guy in Niagara Falls who is familiar with fixing Norge washing machines and he was very discouraged what I told him about the machine he thinks it is a transmission anybody on this site know anyone in the Buffalo area that could fix this washer because this repair man is “”TRYING”” to talk me into throwing the washer out.. I have not had time to tinker around with it yet.. The repairman also said that Norge was not a good dependable machine when he used to repair them years ago ? Lost and helpless!

Hey

Don't let the guy tell you it can't be fixed. Where there's a will there's a way. There a lot of people on here that have lots of experience fixing washing machines. If you willing to do the work on it yourself, you'll succeed. Just remember to take it slow in taking it apart. Take lots of pics of each step you do. Post them here and I am sure we all can help you. Have faith.

Joe is Right...

Please have faith in us on this site — I have had much help and support from folks on here when tackling a repair job. Just remember like Joe says, take photos and notes as you do the work. It pays off. It’s all very logical and methodical...just follow the path and remember that.

Thanks and I am excited about this restoration!

Best,

Todd

I found a Norge

A gentleman is coming over to the house this weekend to take a look at the machine he said he has some parts and he wants to fix this machine ...he said he can fix anything and he fixes washer and dryer so he is going to do this!! I’m going to learn as well .. I will keep everyone posted thank you all for the encouragement I’m not getting rid of this I’ve been wanting this washer since I was eight years old.

How cool is that!! Congrats on finding a dream machine as well as someone local to you to help get it back into shape!! Keep us posted as you progress with this.

A Real Norge Washer June 1975

It looks pretty good to me, that amount of rust is pretty normal on one of these after only 10 years of use.

Other good news there is no sign that the main seal has been leaking so seal and top bearing might be OK, I have never seen a bad transmission on a Norge of the era.

So I met a great guy named Dave he’s been fixing washers for over 30 years he said he’s worked on Norge washers before . we took the Norge apart.. he trouble shooted took off the belt removed the agitator... we did everything... the pully goes in one direction tight then the other direction loose for agitate he says it’s not the motor or transmission?? He’s determined to get this Norge running he’s coming back tomorrow my number is 716-804- 2336 if someone wants to call lol 😆 I’m going to wash in this Norge this week!!

Paul

very happy to see a member find their dream machine. Once you get it up and running your’e gonna love it even more. That machine looks to me to be in great shape for the age not much rust at all, its a keeper. Sounds like you found the right guy to help get back in shape. Like Norgeway says they are great cleaners. Would love to see your collection next time I’m driving through Buffalo!!

Keep posting your progress we will be watching with interest

I'm a bit confused

I see beautiful knobs, tubs, agitator, wires, motor and then suddenly a handsome guy.
Is there any issue with the latest google chrome release?
Just joking.
Looks like a great finding Paul. Lucky you!

I found a Norge

Hi guys please can someone tell me how to download a video it won’t let me it’s what the repairman has to say regarding the pulleys on the Norge washing machine.

Paul, you'd have to transfer your video to YouTube then copy the link and post it here. You can make the video viewable only by those who have the link, if you like.

That machine is cleaning up nicely. The enamel of the inner tub looks very nice. Console does not exhibit the wear of a high mileage machine, either.
I hope you will be able to clean up the base and inner cabinet.
It looks like you found a real gem.
Best wishes!

I found a NORGE

Hi everyone. The gentleman that came to fix the Norge washer is 99% that it is the transmission on the washer that needs to be fixed due to sitting for so long and only wanting to turn in one direction. He is in Buffalo and deals with hundreds of washers a week. He called his pick up guy and told him to keep an eye out for a Norge Washer of course he already threw one away this morning. SO I am in great need of a transmission for this "Particular NORGE washer" Is there any great guy out there that wants to be a transmission donor? Let me know I can pay and pay for it and the shipping. Let me know please then I can wash in the Norge soon. Thank you all. :-))
