After quite some time looking, I finally got a vintage refrigerator. This is my new Frigidaire "baby model." It uses R-114 and still works. I'm researching it, but I'm thinking the little guy is from 1934-1936. Its going to live in the garage until I have an appropriate location, but I'm happy to have it. I'll try to post better pictures when I have decent light.
Thanks!

Nice score! The front door on that one looks very similar to the design of my '39 Westinghouse. Any chance of getting a shot of the inside? I have an idea of what it probably looks like, as I had a slightly newer Frigidaire for a while before giving it to my sister, but it would be nice to see if yours is similar.

I talked to Travis in St. Louis about the evaporator door. He estimated that about 80% of them got removed over the years. They're more decorative than functional so no big loss, but they are cool looking!

The one on the Left is a simple ON OFF switch. The one on the Right is the Defroster. Defroster OFF does nothing, Defroster ON lets the evaporater warm up enough that it should (in theory) defrost the ice. I haven't tried it yet. We'll see what happens.
Incidentally, most Monitor Top fridges had a defroster function also. It never works anymore, so you end up unplugging the fridge with the door open for about an hour.
