a friend of mine has a Sunbeam Power Plus mixer she loves I have repaired it several times but finding parts is getting near impossible if she gets a new mixer what brand will accept all the attachments from the power plus she has them all. most common problem with her the speed control breaks off

Ron:

The Power Plus was a totally unique model in the Sunbeam lineup; all its parts and attachments were specific to it.

The only thing you can do with a Power Plus that's in need of parts is to scour eBay and thrifts, etc., to find either the specific part you need, or a parts machine.

Sunbeam has dropped most support for Power Plus. I think you can still get beaters, but that's about it.

They are lovely machines, but they've entered the phase of their life cycle where you have to be determined and a bit creative to keep one going.

P.S.:

One of the major reasons Power Plus and Mixmaster attachments are not interchangeable is that a Mixmaster uses a separate power take-off unit to operate the attachments, but on a Power Plus, the attachments are fitted to a power take-off point built into the mixer head.

Well my friends

I got her mixer fixed once again but her son gave her a new Kitchen aid bowl lift mixer for /christmas she is giving her sunbeam to him, when i took it back to her she gave me her mothers old mixer a sunbeam model 12 one of my fav models

Power Plus Attachements

I am about 99% certain that the Oster food grinder (like the one in the link) will utilize all those attachments. It is basically the motor that sits on the counter and she could continue to use all the attachments she already has. Cheaper than replacing all of them for her new KitchenAid. A friend of mine has the Oster machine and I am pretty sure we tried my Power Plus accessories on it and it worked well. I wouldn't buy the one in this auction because I see them often at garage and estate sales for a fraction of that price but this is an option for her.

The Oster Food Center will also use those attachments but that's a more costly alternative unless she sees one of these at a sale somewhere. They come up around here from time to time but are usually in the $50-$75 range depending on the condition and number of attachments.
