I picked this up today. I couldn’t help it. Of course I didn’t need it, but damn was it cool looking. It appears to be a late 30s early 40s Bendix washing machine.
Amazingly clean for her significant age. No disrespect intended.

Yes, she will be for sale. I just don’t know how much. I just brought her home today so I don’t even know her model number. Any help would be appreciated. And yes, I can ship her. I can pretty much ship anything. And possibly willing to deliver within Los Angeles or a state or so So Cali.

Hooray, I saved another one!

Looks like the Bendix 'Standard', the non-automatic version of their washer.  A bolt-down for sure...

Jon (jetcone) found a 1938 model a number of years ago - it's now in "foster care" in my appliance hoard in Ogden!

1938-1940 Bendix Standard

This is a great save! A 1938 thru 1940 model S, Standard. Fully automatic model with the revised soap dispenser cover (bake-lite vs. the earlier brushed chrome cover, seen below). You may find a serial tag behind the front cover, on the frame below the cleanout. Model tag should be on the rear cover, near the bottom. A 'Bendix Home Laundry' badge should also be on the lower front panel, as well.

Quick footnote. Folks often use a date of 1937 when showing early, pre-War Bendix washers. The only model that was available specifically in the fall of '37, when the Bendix was debuted, is the full one piece wrap around cabinet, porcelain top, galvanized tubs, white painted timer/temp dial escutcheons, and a white drop down door (vs. the side opening door). By early '38 the wrapper cabinet was broken down to three pieces and the drop down door color was changed to black enamel paint.[this post was last edited: 9/6/2022-13:04]

Quick observation - I suspect this particular Standard does not have the original style 'Bendix Home Laundry' badge at the bottom of the lower panel due to the updated soap dispenser cover having the name cast within the bake-lite lid/cover. If the OP/seller doesn't mind posting a photo of the model tag and/or serial number tag, it would be greatly appreciated.

This is a beautiful washer. Hopefully someone here saves it.

I really do wish I could save it but I don’t even have

Anywhere close to 500, plus I don’t even own anything anywhere in Los Angeles so it’s not like I could bolt it down anyway, I really do hope someone here can save it
