Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

yes indeedy it IS AN AUTOMATIC WASHER.

FILL- WASH -DRAIN

followed by three of these:

FILL- RINSE- DRAIN

It just doesn't spin beween water changers.

There is a water inlet solenoid (ONE-not hot and cold as the Japanese traditionally wash in cold only), a water-level selector switch and a pump.

The "Manual" cycle goes from 9:00 to 12:00 on the dial.
The "Automatic" cycle goes from 2:00 to 8:00

oh and I have to pull that sock out of there.

The machine appears to be 24" wide by 18" deep. (60cm x 45cm)

(I used body parts to estimate, so I may be off an inch or two. [AOL inches] Don't ask!) :-)

if it's watertight and runs it's gonna get a mega-dergreasing!

THAT'S ALL FOLKS!

~BRB, sneaking out to my garage and car to get more pics....
It's gonna live in here for a few day to esnure there are no critters in residence.

OH CHILD NO NO NO.

It's gonna love out THERE for a few days!

We had one of those when I was growing up, but it was Branded Astor.

Ours lacked the automatic cycle, but it had a hook over the wash bowl to hook the drain hose into and circulate the water through the the filter on the bottom.

It's a great find steve and it looks great.

That was my grandmother's machine in Brooklyn (Bensonhurst). What killed it for her was a crack in one of the hose connectors underneath. She combed all 5 boroughs and could not find any dealer or parts store that could/would help her. When I visited her and would wash, I would always transfer the load from the wash basin to the extractor each time the machine would go into drain (after wash and after each rinse).

The impeller does reverse, but there is a long period of agitation before the direction change and it really gets up to an impressive speed. Often times I thought the machine would tip over as the load got "out of balance" while washing. The water would also ride pretty high up the sides.

a gallon is 4+/- litres.

As promised it is still living in my car under a blanket.
Taking it to Connecticut to visit GadgetGary.
Stay tuned for updates by about noon-ish on Saturday Eastern time.
We will be testing it there. Should it retain water, (*LOL* oooh girl your ankles are swelling; did you fart in your pantyhose or drink a gallon of water? ) it will be getting the scrubbing of its life.

Folowing is a picture of the drain-hose. It appears to fit into the right side of the machine. Based on that patch job i'll bet it leaks like a sieve. The hose is CAKED with cooking grease dust, dirt and plain-old filth. My car smells like the kithcen of a greasy-spoon type restaurant/diner with old cooking oil! *LOL*

Can you see how the grey becomes yellow/brown?

It's going to take a great deal of convincing for me to leave that plastic sales/features label on the lid of the spinner. Taking votes.. get it naked or leave it dressed?
