Combination automatic washer and spin dryer? HUH?

It's a harvest gold TOSHIBA twin-tub!

With a free protective coating of grease and dirt and muck!

The best was the dirty looks I was getting from the women sitting on the "stoop" (steps) saying:

"Que hace el blancito con la machina? Es una basura cien por ciento". (I would assume they meant the machine. LOL)

Honey, one's man's trash is another man's treasure.

Yes! I stuck it into the back of my little Saturn.

Did you think I could possoibly resist it?

I'm not afraid of a thick coating of grease. Nothing some chemical warfare and some physical abrasion can't fix

Please excuse the filth. This was pic was taken on the street.

more interiors.

Spinner. It looks un-centered in that the machine was lying on its side (in my car! YAY!!!) when this shot was taken.

RESCUED!

Ya know, I din't see that before. You are right! Looks like those articles of clothing were blocking the drain hole.

This and the tape over the drian hose may explain why it was briefly homeless...

What a great find. Steve you will have this spiffed up in no time. I bet the clothes in the spinner is why they tossed this to the curb.

La cucaracha, la cuccracha, que no puede caminar..

BRB, sneaking out to my garage and car to get more pics....

It's gonna live in here for a few day to esnure there are no critters in residence.

Breathe in baby!

and for you traditionalists.

Get used to it. In NYC they are everywhere and their poop is considered (a component of dust). Plain and simple.

BRB! Te he he he

yes indeedy it IS AN AUTOMATIC WASHER.

FILL- WASH -DRAIN

followed by three of these:

FILL- RINSE- DRAIN

It just doesn't spin beween water changers.

There is a water inlet solenoid (ONE-not hot and cold as the Japanese traditionally wash in cold only), a water-level selector switch and a pump.

The "Manual" cycle goes from 9:00 to 12:00 on the dial.
The "Automatic" cycle goes from 2:00 to 8:00

oh and I have to pull that sock out of there.

The machine appears to be 24" wide by 18" deep. (60cm x 45cm)

(I used body parts to estimate, so I may be off an inch or two. [AOL inches] Don't ask!) :-)

if it's watertight and runs it's gonna get a mega-dergreasing!

THAT'S ALL FOLKS!

OH CHILD NO NO NO.

It's gonna love out THERE for a few days!

We had one of those when I was growing up, but it was Branded Astor.

Ours lacked the automatic cycle, but it had a hook over the wash bowl to hook the drain hose into and circulate the water through the the filter on the bottom.

It's a great find steve and it looks great.
