Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

I don't know about that - I've seen an ad for this appliance and it really does seem to have a charcoal-fired grill on one side and an electric range on the other. Either way, it's turquoise and that, after all, is what matters! lol

Learn something everyday.

Does it use a downdraft vent of some kind? How are the charcoal fumes exhausted?
I know Jennaire has an electric grill, but I guess I just have never seen an indoor, household charcoal grill before.

This was actually intended to be used outdoors (hey, doesn't everyone have 240V power on their patio?? lol)
I actually have plans in an old Popular Mechanics book how to build a 'Patio Cooking Cart' that was outfitted with a Westinghouse Control Centre (fed by a 240V plug) for appliances.
I am also guessing this unit was intended to be stored somewhere dry when it wasn't in use!

I have a copy of that Popular Mechanics book with the Patio Cooking Cart, in the same issue trhere was either an article on making your own inground pool or a review of the Chevy Sedans of thast year, it was from I do believe 1961.
My copy was grandpaps and while helping him clean the attic of the garage before he died we found this copy and another from the same year both are in mint condition and on a bookshelf at grandma's.

xrraytech: I have the whole set of the hard-cover Popular Mechanics encyclopedia (dated 1966). I just picked them up at the local Sally Ann a couple of weeks ago - mint condition also!

Jon: I wish I was as close to the grill as you are! But, since hubby still doesn't know about the Westy Slant Front that is now somewhere on the I95, I shouldn't push my luck...

That is a 1960 GE Partio Cart

Acording to the book A Walk in the Park: The History of Appliance Park, GE introduced the Partio Cart in 1960 and only a handful of orders were recieved mainly becasue the unit was expensive to buy in the first place and since you had to plug it into a 240 volt service and 240 volt service on the patio was not a common thing there was the added expense of adding a 240 volt line.......that is why it flopped....PAT COFFEY
