Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I would love to get a boil washer and condenser dryer. My current residence, constructed in 1946, doesnt have 220-240 volts!

With 110-120v 30a electrical service, believe me, I can barely run my electric toothbrush and "personal massger" at the same time. LOL

yes kiddies consuming the same wattage one would on 220v, but at 110v, the amerage required is DOUBLE.

That's just the same as having a 15A 230V service! ;)

Welcome to the Italian energy world! Just one appliance at a time for most of the families! ehehhehe
It would be so great if they decided to change the standard contracts!

My Miele W1070 Will Hit "Boiling" On 120V

Mind you unlike today's 120v offerings from Miele, mine pulls 1500 watts (half of the 3000 watt heater leg is connected), but have never done it from cold water.

Normally will run a warm or even hot pre-wash first (as when preparing to do a drum cleaning/descaling cycle), then allow the washer to fill with tap hot (120F-140F water depending upon time of the year).

The only time would consider doing this with laundry is for a load that cannot fit into my lessiveuse (French laundry boiling pot). Electric rates are just getting too dear around here.

IIRC, the little Danby front loader (no longer produced IIRC) did a boil wash on 120v as well.
