Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Brake fluid

Actually, you can get "rubber revitalizer" which I've heard is the same stuff as brake fluid only more expensive. Which will be the way to go and if that don't fix it, rebuild.

Like old washers, the parts are almost non-existant now. Even the most common parts like Magnavox, GE, BSR, the well's going dry.

Styli, phonolube and rubber rev on order

Just ordered extra styli, phono lube and rubber revitalizer so once that comes in, I'll pull the turntable, give it a going over and Maggie will be ready to wash 'n' roll. YAY for vintage record players.

It is a good idea to remove as much old lubricant as possible using a solvent such as isopropyl alcohol before re-lubricating. If the speed sounds slow the motor may need to be disassembled, cleaned, and the bearings relubricated with a light oil.
If rubber rejuvinator doesn't help the drive wheel another trick is to mount it in a drill chuck and gently grind it against some sandpaper attached to the workbench. This will help renew some traction.
