Well, we have Wash-Ins and Iron-Ins. Which others do you suggest?

1) Mix-Ins. Yep, this one has potential. Everyone brings their favorite, and goes to town mixing up delicious cakes, cookies, breads and so forth to be enjoyed later.

2) Cook-In. A bit more involved, vintage kitchen appliances, mixers, blenders, stoves and gadgets. You whip up all sorts of culinary delights.

3) Dish-In. Or a Dishwasher In. Everyone brings one dirty dish, or pot. Lets just see which dishwasher performs best.

4) Suck-In. No, not that you perv. Everyone brings their favorite vacuum to put it through a battery of tests.

5) Cool-In. Vintage air conditioners and fans. Bring a sweater.

6) Mod-In. Aka Modern-In. This is all inclusive. Anything and everything from the '50's, '60's and '70's. Ah the joys of modern living.

Any more ideas?

...-ins

I'm all for a 'drill-in'!! I like power tools, too... (rp2813, Reply #2)

I could also go for a 'test-in' or 'repair-in'... A chance to use some vintage test-gear to diagnose and repair some vintage appliances....

Right now, though, I could use a 'lie-in'.... I'm just not getting enough sleep... :-(

All best

I was thinking along the lines of a Wash-In, with a theme.....

something simple as everyone wears the same shirt or with a detergent emblem....

everyone wear white socks, and we try different detergents to see which will get them cleaner...

would a TOGA event be pushing it too far?....

even make it a game day, vintage board games, or cards....

how about a stereo set-up......sit around and play our favorite 45's and 78's.....combine it we could have a sock hop!.....

has anyone done a NewYear's wash-in?.....but it starts at Midnight!

there are others, but thanks to Louie, we can't post them here...

@ Ralph, I'm always available for a "Drill-In" LOVE power tools.

@ Martin, I think a Toga Wash-In would be perfect!

How about a Rock-In? Y'all seem to have fallen off your rockers as it is. LMAO

We could all play musical chairs to boot. Just no kickin' anybody off their seat allowed!!

:O

All the ideas are good!

was thinking ...DRILL-IN or "TOOL-IN" ? (old tools, new tools, antique tools)

"JAM-IN" - (bring your portable record player and tunes) ..probably needs some other "IN" to add flair to it.

"SEW-IN" - bring your stuff you fixed, need fixing, and learn what others did, what they used, or what they created on whatever machine they can tote(might be hard to do this).

"FIX-IN"? - bring your restoration and repair solutions for washers, dryer, or any appliance and some of your best solutions for any weight problem.

And all above should include a "Laugh-In" , whether we're after the same thing or not. :-)

Considering that Ultramatic is helping me

To get dishwashers number 26 and 27 this weekend, I am really hoping to have a dish-wash in next summer.

The plumber is at my house right now. We'll see how much the basement modifications are going to be so I can get all of them permanently installed.

And for those who want to know, I have about 17 of my collection that can I turn on and run at this point (although the ones that aren't in my rack have to be drug over to the sink and then we have to hold onto them during loading so they don't tip over).

Deconstruct-in

Who wants to come help deconstruct this house and take home a bit of knotty pine paneling, studs or tin roof? Yes, I have an ulterior motive, but wouldn't it be the perfect place for a "drill-in?" When we began to tire of deconstucting, we could move to the big house and do some fixing-in. And after we're tired out from all of that, we could mix-in, cook-in, fish-in or hike-in.

And yes, this is a very self-interested invitation. I'd love to fill my house up with a big crew of y'all. I think it would be a laugh-in.

the big house

More about this one in another thread, but, as you can see, it desperately needs a fix-in. It belonged to my grandparents, and I spent most of my childhood there.
