Im getting Beko WM6123W!

right, i suppose now that your wondering why as ive only just plumbed the bendix in.
well my dads girlfriends niece is moving at the end of the month and wants us to look after her washing machine for a year as she has a built in model in the new house but she insists that her own machine is to be used for the year or until she moves again, and my dads girlfriend is interested as well because of the bigger 6kg drum and faster 1200rpm spin, so it is being delivered to me on the 31st so i will be taking the bendix out of service on the Sunday ready for the Tuesday when it comes, of course i will be maintaining it when it arrives, first thing ill do with it is get a maintenance wash done and give it a good clean.
ill keep you updated, would like to know what you think of whats going to happen.

might have to get rid of a washer

when the beko arrives we might be giving the zanussi away to someone else, i just about won the decicion for the zanussi to go and not the others (phew) and hopefully it will give us a little more room for when the beko goes after the year, also my dads girlfriend isnt bothered about wash times with this one so that i am pleased about, she also said 'we'll see how good we get on with this one and i might buy a brand new machine' so im hoping that is the case, but i dont think it will be a miele yet

just realized i wont be able to move ANY machines around until the Beko arrives as its coming through the bottom door which the Hotpoint and crusader are sat by so ill have to move those then stack the crusader on the 9534 then bring the Zanussi into the hallway, put the Bendix where is Zanussi is now and FINALLY ill be able to put the Beko in...argh! so annoying

Maintenance

well tomorrow's the day the beko arrives so later tonight ill be giving the Bendix 7128 a maintenance before it gets pulled out of service, ill try and get a video or two aswell

well the Beko was put in on Tuesday when delivered and its first wash was a cotton 90 with prewash and extra rinse and all its been since then is horrid, rinses are low so it dosent rinse well, sudslocks most of the time, and if it sudslocks then you get 5 mins of pausing, 2 second burst fills, 2 second burst drains. but the 1200 rpm and 6kg is allot better to have, the pump is nice and quiet and the motor itself isnt too bad either but its not sounding all that good, ill try and get a video of it if i see it doing it because i have no idea what it is and how bad it is.

If you're getting sudslock and everything else is working (pump etc), the you are using too much detergent compared to the level of soiling in the clothes and the water hardness ....it is as simple as that...

 

Additionally, is the pump running while it is spinning? I know it sounds silly to ask, but my mothers Fisher and Paykel (which is a Beko rebadge) wasn't when it was new out of the box...and needed a new board...seems there was a faulty batch of control boards a few years ago....

 

Don't forget that what you 'used to do in the old machine' is to some degree no longer relevant to a new one.

Well something is causing it to sudslock....and it certainly isn't the lack of 'pump action' then...

 

You say you aren't over dosing....but for a machine to sudslock basically means that there is too much of something or not enough of another - powder/liquid or dirt to remove.....

The hose from the dispeser to the pump is likley to be clogged with powder.

We have a couple of Beko machines where I work. When washing big loads it appears that the pump is not fast enough to remove the water when the machine starts to spin and creates a mountain of suds, especially the first spin after the wash. I agree with Phil though, these machines are not good at rinsing, if I am using the machines I select extra rinse and try not to load them too full.

I am a support worker, I support people with various difficulties in their own homes so get to use a few washers, mostly Beko, Indesit and a couple of Zannussi's. I quite like the Zannussi "easy iron", 1600 spin and the super quick option will do a load of cottons at 40 deg in 50 mins, 55mins if you wash at 60 deg.

New Machines - Drain Pumps......

I have noticed on newer machines it does take them longer to drain water than older machines. Obviously it doesn't cause massive issues with actual water because machines have much less water to drain than those from the 70s & 80s, but it's clear that the pumps on some new machines are alot less powerful than the older ones, which will effect their ability to shift sudsy water when under alot of demand like on the first spin after the wash.

Combined with newer machines lack of water & then in Phil's case, soft water in the local area, i'm not massively suprised the Beko is sudslocking. At least it does fill the sump with water & then drain to flush the suds away - our Zanussi Essential just sits there draining for ages & then tries spinning, aborts & static drains again so Beko should only be praised for trying something which sounds like it'd work.

However, to try & reduce the problems you've experienced i'd take Paul's advice & use Extra Rinse & try not to overfill. Also find a detergent which foams less. Ive noticed Surf hardly foams at all in our machine while Fairy & Persil go mad. I appreciate this is harder to control in somewhere like Brighton as the water is so much softer than here in Oxford (where a new kettle is covered in scale within 4 months), but it's worth a try.

If you are using Extra Rinse make sure it doesn't do what our Essential does, which is cut the water level on the original rinses to counteract the additional water on the extra rinses - that's something that's highly annoying on the Zanussi.

I agree with trying a detergent that doesn't foam as much. Most of the people I work with use Fairy which creates a lot of suds! Having said that the one of the Beko owners uses sainsbury's own 2 in 1 and still gets bad suds lock but that is probably due to washing too many items in a 5kg machine.
