Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Paul....

I never used to pay much attention to detergent, just bought it & used it, but lately i've been quite suprised at how different the level of suds are between brands. Like you say, i find Fairy to be like washing up liquid - foam everywhere no matter how little you use, whereas with Surf i wonder if i've forgotten to put any in the drawer!

I do prefer to see some foam but apparantly it's not necessary to signify that youre using the correct dose - just the OCD in me!

I have found that any P&G powder is very sudsy in my machine to the point where I get told to "check detergent". Liquitabs are not as bad. I am using persil tablets for whites and small and mighty for everything else at the moment and find they rinse out a lot better even in our soft water. How do you find Surf at cleaning?

Surf....

I did find that washing a white t-shirt with a dried-on pasta sauce stain on it at 40c with Surf didn't shift it, but once i put it on 90c it'd totally gone. Not sure whether 60c would've done the trick but as i had a rare load of stuff that could be boiled (bedding, light underwear etc) i thought i'd put it all in & save having to re-wash it again if 60c didn't work.

Never noticed major problems with Surf before, or anything else, but i get the impression that Persil Bio & Daz means business more than some of the other stuff i've tried.

Beko washing machines

I bought a Beko WM5120 washing machine in August 2010, so far so good, my parents use it as i got it for them, as the Zanussi Broke Down. And yes its annoying when it sudslocks in the interim spin, but overall it cleans clothes fine, and does what its supposed to do.

and it does depend on what detergents you use, My parents use Surf Tropical and Persil Colour. they generally have no complaints.

As far as suds go...

...I have never had a problem with Levers powder products either here with Surf/Drive/Omo or in the UK with Persil or Surf....

the beko we had was Awful just plain awful id never go enar a Beko again... astonishingly the Haier we had outlived the Beko...and that's saying something!

amazingly enough

Beko are built better than some of the stuff they have out there. ours is nearly a year old and nothing has gone wrong, my parents only use it twice a week.

they are happy with it, and it should last quite a while as they do hot washes in it for sheets and towels, and use Biological Powder, so the drum stays fresh, and the door is always left ajar, insisted by me.

all the washers we have have owned have lasted at least a decade =]

at the end of the day, its a no fuss, simple basic machine, you put clothes in it, turn it on and walk away and it cleans your clothes

the early models of beko were quite poor in the QC section (quality control)
but ever since arcilik-beko bought out blomberg bekos quality has improved quite a bit!.

Which, I may add, is something I said within weeks of becoming a member of this forum several years ago!
