VacWeb
Hhmmmmm..... been reading the last few posts and it strikes a very big chord!!! For the want of boring you all again with how I came to find AW, heres the shorthand:.......2001 Renovating house...Need Log Burner...Estate Sale...No Log Burner...
BUT...Shiny Retro Kirby Vac...Lots of Boxes...Original Receipt...£30...Take Home & Play...
I searched the web for parts and came across the VacWeb Forum as was....asked a few questions, proud of my first vac, wanted spares, & servicing knowledge...."You`d have thought I`d walked into the Queen Mum`s Palace with Corgi Poo on my shoes"...I`ve never felt so dissed, laughed at and put down by two people in particular for having my "Coming Out Of The Closet Kirby Toy instead of a Dyson"...At first I let it go, thought I was newie, its hard to judge people over e-mail etc....then noticed the pattern repeating until one day it happend to me again....I thought about it and calmly called one person to task on his comments...I was out of there asap, as lifes to short to deal with some people....I WAS amazed to receive 4 personal emails from other members (Who I didnt Know, and still dont ) apologising for their behaviour and thanking me for having the courage to bring up how I felt...
Another search produced the Yahoo Clubs, Classic Appliances & Hooverland...then later TT emporium and all that you know....So i duely signed up and was most surprised to find members (and now friends) who would converse with you in a more human way,,,,many of you I have met in person and I hope to meet many more next year....
This IS a GREAT place to be....
