oh no you didnt! but oh so true! one queen in particular i imagine spending her days pulling flowers and making children cry. the birds singing must piss her off. i will call her P&P (peeved and prudish). maybe one day Robert will once again welcome posts about vacuums on this site. the vacuum site has already lost one of its most integral and beloved members due to bs! only makes me appreciate this site much more!

"Pat, you DO contribute. Now get a front-loader already....
(ducks and runs)"

Togs..you know i like it on TOP....ehh....a TL that is. LOL

But right now i feel i can go either way. ROFLMAO!

Pete and Brett

I'm taking a vacation from the VCCC site due to the strange behavior over there. Things started out so well and then it was like somebody put a match to a bunch of gas soaked rags!

And, I'm not afraid to post but certain folks think that if you want to engage in a little camp, then you have no class and that is pretty much a direct quote. So, I'll be camping it up here for the time being.

Some of us original Vacuumland posters, (and web site committee people), started here and this is a FUN place. I'm glad Robert left the Lux G picture---I feel I can mention a vacuum if necessary.

Sorry to see anyone leave but people bounce around from one thing to another.

I had a little time to look at the VCCC!

OYE!!! I think that there are enough vac people here to enjoy ourselves, Charlie. I wouldn't, at this juncture, pay two cents to belong to that "club." I had an opportunity to read some of what has been going on and there are just a few people who need to take some sort of a pill to calm their nerves. Then there are a select few who I am glad that I don't have their nerve in my tooth :-) There were some nice but generic conversations going on but none that I would feel welcome contributing to. Having been part of many, MANY collectors "clubs" over that last 30 years I can tell you that this washer site is very, VERY unique! I have never had the enjoyment nor felt the comeraderie that I have experienced here! Thank you all for making me feel so welcome.

It's too bad that they are not flexible enough to "agree to disagree" at times. I would not feel comfortable posting anything other than the most antiseptic of posts. For my part I'll just stay right here where my friends are! Blessed I am for having made such good friends :-)

Hmmm. It seems to me that the VCCC is being spoiled by two, maybe three, members. I was quite saddened to learn of a really great member who chose to leave.

Still, the membership is by and large a wonderful group. I really loved almost everyone I met in Chicago last October. Several of the members have emailed me offline to offer support when I was Boyfriend Shopping.

So if all you fun guys want to come on back over here, I think that's great! I look at this board every day, something I can't say about the vacuum site.

VCCC

In the 3 short months that I've been a dues-paying member of the VCCC, it has been a fantastic club that I will continue to be a part of for years to come, as long as it's around! I am also looking forward to attending my first Convention next year (and spending many hours in Greg's basement again...) in Omaha. The Vacuumland site, however, has really taken an unfortunate downturn, in my opinion. Notice how there aren't NEARLY as many new posts by club members (not visitors as they seem to keep coming onto the site) as there were a month ago. While I laugh at most of the drama that has occurred on there, it's a shame that recent events not only caused one member to leave, but another member to be unfairly suspended from posting as well. And some wonder why their questions don't get answered...

Needless to say, until that forum awakens from its seemingly comatose state, I'm going to stay here for a while.

I honestly just don't get it with some of those vacuum fanatics. I've joked about it here and maybe embellished it a bit but it's true. I remember about a year ago when I first started collecting some I came across a Rainbow pretty much mint but it had a whiny sound in the power nozzle. Asked a question or two on a still in existance website and a couple of nice people responded. Turned out the brushroll was reversed or something, very simple fix. Well not long after that I mentioned I was selling it and one person jumped all over me, their opening remark went something like this " A-ha, caught ya, just like I thought another phony trying to get free information so he can sell his stuff and make money when he should be sending it (the money) to me for the advice I gave him." I believe that person was serious and he is still around though not someone I will ever have two words to share with with one exception. And when I jokingly said here about some of them maintaining vast databanks of each and every word ever written by their adversaries on a site (not the VCCC yet anyways LOL) to throw back in their face at a later date... that's somewhat true. I was amazed when I first saw it. Can you imagine me analyzing every sentence Austin ever printed here over one year ago and then being able to catch him up on something he says today, verbatim.. well some of those vacuum folks can and seem to relish doing it.

I only started looking at this site when my washer had some problems and I was wondering how to fix it. Then I got addicted to some of the conversations held on this site.
It's truly wonderful how people tend to help each other out in a quick and knowledgable fashion on this site. Plus I have learned so much on this site about appliances and the history of the different brands and technologies involved. It's always an interesting read.
I am happy this site is here for all to enjoy!

VacWeb

Hhmmmmm..... been reading the last few posts and it strikes a very big chord!!! For the want of boring you all again with how I came to find AW, heres the shorthand:.......2001 Renovating house...Need Log Burner...Estate Sale...No Log Burner...
BUT...Shiny Retro Kirby Vac...Lots of Boxes...Original Receipt...£30...Take Home & Play...

I searched the web for parts and came across the VacWeb Forum as was....asked a few questions, proud of my first vac, wanted spares, & servicing knowledge...."You`d have thought I`d walked into the Queen Mum`s Palace with Corgi Poo on my shoes"...I`ve never felt so dissed, laughed at and put down by two people in particular for having my "Coming Out Of The Closet Kirby Toy instead of a Dyson"...At first I let it go, thought I was newie, its hard to judge people over e-mail etc....then noticed the pattern repeating until one day it happend to me again....I thought about it and calmly called one person to task on his comments...I was out of there asap, as lifes to short to deal with some people....I WAS amazed to receive 4 personal emails from other members (Who I didnt Know, and still dont ) apologising for their behaviour and thanking me for having the courage to bring up how I felt...

Another search produced the Yahoo Clubs, Classic Appliances & Hooverland...then later TT emporium and all that you know....So i duely signed up and was most surprised to find members (and now friends) who would converse with you in a more human way,,,,many of you I have met in person and I hope to meet many more next year....

This IS a GREAT place to be....

Mike

It is too bad that members are having personal problems at the vacuum site. I know there was a lot of work went into building that site, and because it is set up just like this one it is a very nice site.
The members should make more of an effort to get along.
If they do not, someone will get disgusted and "pull the plug" on the whole thing at some point.

i too joined the vacc site

I just don"t undestand why some people get their panites all in a wad over haveing a little camp fun. If they don't like it that is why there is a arrow on the pc to pass it up. I must say that has been many a time that the fun "camp" sessions have MADE MY DAY!!! THANK YOU CHARLIE & VEG!!!THANK YOU!
