My grandmother (who is 99 years old and lives alone in her own house) still has a wood stove in her kitchen. It is all white with black trim. The oven is in the middle with the firebox on the left and a tub for heating water on the right. Overhead there is a storage drawer as well as one underneath the oven. She doesn't cook much anymore and has an electric stove also but she still lights up the wood stove on those wintery days when it is -30 C outside.

The lady of the house cleaned it "herself"! *LOL* Oh don't for get leading and polishing it as well. Just imagine.

HI everyone, I have a 1925 Copper Clad cookstove, manufactured in St.Louis, hooked up in the kitchen. I burn coal in it and it sure does turn out great meals. I don't use it in the summer time but sure is nice in the winter. Anyone interested in learning how to cook on one of these, just let me know and we can fire it up. Gary
